Include call history in chat
Am I the only one finding it painfull that the chat history DOES NOT include call logs?
I want to be able to reconstruct to whom I talked how long. As a workaround I started to use Skype again or quit the Teams calls and call back the people by phone.
In Skype this feature helped me a lot when I tried to reconstruct to whom i spoke on days where things became crowded.
Please implement that feature asap!
This work item is on the backlog.
I would hugely appreciate this feature, too.
Do you know when this might be coming? We use the call log to integrate with our time recording software and this is incredibly useful. Not having the functionality in Teams will affect the adoption overall by the legal sector as a full replacement for Skype for Business.
Yes, I need the call history in chat.
How could you miss this?
In the meantime I'll continue to use Skype.

This must be added ASAP! How can I bill without minutes recorded? I don't want it linked to my phone and it comes to my laptop anyway. Skype is way better at this.
I think I found a way:
If the call had a calendar invite and was a "Teams Meeting", then you can go to 'Calendar' and double-click on the meeting in question. Then there are tabs at the top --> click on the 'Chat' tab and it should show how long the meeting lasted and who was on the call.

I can see a call history, but it does not show meetings (calendar does not suffice it shows the scheduled time, not the actual time)
The log does not seem to include everything (like calls made via "meet now" button?)
For compliance reasons we need a record of teams calls. Advanced eDiscovery shows a record of Teams instant messaging but not Teams calls. For example, record that an IM chat then escalated to call.
Correction: eDisco search kind=microsoftteams

I agree call history should be included in the Chat dialogue. It is time consuming and a step backwards to have it listed only in the call tab. Have it there, too, if you like, but I miss this functionality that was in Skype Business - please bring it back to Teams!
~~~ Alex responded August 27, 2019: "Calls from chat are logged under call
~~~ history in the Calls app, including the time of call and duration. Please
~~~ try this and let us know your feedback."
Alex, it seems that you might not have not read though all the comments before posting this workaround. Many of the comments here posted BEFORE yours indicate that they are aware of the "Call History" but that it is insufficient because it doesn't show which chat a call was associated with. Even when it is possible to match a call with a single chat session, it impedes workflow significantly to switch back-and-forth to piece together the data. As others have said, this is an important feature missing in comparison with Skype for Business.
Better, however, I'm going to repeat a comment that was already made:
"[Now]The main issue is inconsistency: if the call is from a 1 on 1 chat, it appears only in Calls History, if it is from a chat with more than 1 person or from a Team or a Calendar, it appears only in the chat.
It would be great that: Any call from any source appear in the Calls History and also in its chat"
Having the information in a single place is helpful. Having to go to multiple places to piece it together is frustrating.
I am looking for this feature as well. If someone is asking a question through the chat and instead of answering back in text I call them, I now lose the log of that happening and it just looks like I ignored the question.
In the desktop version, there is now a duration of the call in the History tab. But the duration is all wrong. I had a 1 hr call showing 2 hr duration, and today calls of 15 mins showing 29 mins, and 17 mins showing 35 mins. Seems to be random errors in the timing (or the double?).
Agree need to see the call participant, duration and time of call
Yep, need a REAL history here. Just a list of calls I made the days prior does me no good. Why can't this data be preserved? Please, just give us back the functions of Skype before telling us this is better.
It is so difficult to finish up time sheet when there are no history of call logs / duration :(
Microsoft announced feature parity with Skype for Business. Until this is implemented, that simply isn't true.
Trying to transition to Teams from Skype for all internal communications but having to install the mobile app just to be able to see how long internal calls between staff members were is such a negative. We'll be hanging on to Skype for as long as possible unless this gets resolved. It's a real showstopper.
Log when users enter/leave a call in a meeting or channel and allow me to run a report on it. In running incident management calls, we need to track when support team members join, to see if there is any delay in response by on-call, etc.
