How can we make Microsoft Teams better?

Include call history in chat

Am I the only one finding it painfull that the chat history DOES NOT include call logs?

I want to be able to reconstruct to whom I talked how long. As a workaround I started to use Skype again or quit the Teams calls and call back the people by phone.

In Skype this feature helped me a lot when I tried to reconstruct to whom i spoke on days where things became crowded.

Please implement that feature asap!

Yep, need a REAL history here. Just a list of calls I made the days prior does me no good. Why can't this data be preserved? Please, just give us back the functions of Skype before telling us this is better.

It is so difficult to finish up time sheet when there are no history of call logs / duration :(

Microsoft announced feature parity with Skype for Business. Until this is implemented, that simply isn't true.

Trying to transition to Teams from Skype for all internal communications but having to install the mobile app just to be able to see how long internal calls between staff members were is such a negative. We'll be hanging on to Skype for as long as possible unless this gets resolved. It's a real showstopper.

Log when users enter/leave a call in a meeting or channel and allow me to run a report on it. In running incident management calls, we need to track when support team members join, to see if there is any delay in response by on-call, etc.

That's the only reason that Skype for business is better. We can find all the logs from the 'conversation' in outlook itself. But there is no way to extract it from Microsoft Teams. Other that that It's just perfect. Hope it gets fixed soon.

I second the value in having the calls log in the chat thread. I leveraged this frequently in Skype for Business. Microsoft, if you want user to adopt Teams over Skype for Business, you need to maintain functionality we have in Skype for Business. Promoting a half-baked replacement product is never a recipe for success especially when we're losing basic functionality.

Are the Teams developers assuming that Teams calls will be done on a mobile device and not a computer? Seems presumptive... I use a Surface Book, so using Teams voice calls on my computer is just a easy as using my phone, but I work on my computer, so if I want to find the number for "who was it that called me yesterday" right now I have to stop using my computer and open my smartphone, which is disruptive. It would be more appropriate if the Teams desktop app features had all of the available features since (especially with a Surface) computers are basically mobile devices now. Also, when will the desktop app be able to properly interact with my Outlook contact groups...? There is a reason that I already have them saved there.

Skype for Business used to show you conversations like this:

    [IM]
    [IM]
    [Call with X: 5 min 32 sec]
    [IM]
    [IM]
    [Missed call from X]
    [IM]

Teams needs to implement this feature - having to check your mobile app to see call durations is not a viable solution.

People use this feature for time tracking and seeing how long calls took. Please add this feature Microsoft!

Agreed that this feature is *very* helpful when reconstructing timelines of phone calls.

I have the Teams App installed on my iPhone and it does show call logs (even when your phone was not involved with the call). But the calls do not show up in my Windows Client App.

The really irritating thing about this is that you can see if you missed a call, but you can't see if you subsequently called back.
Even if you remember calling back, they might then have called again afterwards and you missed that subsequent call, so the message that you Missed a Call might refer to the one that you responded to or the one that came after, so you can't be sure whether you should be calling back or not!

Hi, I came here looking for the same thing. If I am in a chat with someone and they ask a question, I might quickly hit "call" to answer the question by calling them. But Teams doesn't log that call. The next line would be the next chat and there is no record the call every took place. Skype shows all calls in line with chat as expected. Desperately missing from Teams.

Yeah, that would be very useful to have a audio / video call log (at least call started / call ended / duration)

    Hi,

I see call logs shows when we are at least 3 in group chat, but it seems one to one call logs was removed?
