Include call history in chat
Am I the only one finding it painfull that the chat history DOES NOT include call logs?
I want to be able to reconstruct to whom I talked how long. As a workaround I started to use Skype again or quit the Teams calls and call back the people by phone.
In Skype this feature helped me a lot when I tried to reconstruct to whom i spoke on days where things became crowded.
Please implement that feature asap!

when will it be possible to see the "conversation history" in outlook, like it was/is possible for skype ?
Call history will not store any data (participants) if you were in a call with several people. Improvement to have daily business done, where teams should be intended for. (better collaboration)

I agree. This is a much needed improvement to the service. Currently, you can only see 30 days of call history, but there is no way to download it that I can find. Ideally, you could access your entire call history, print or download it into a spreadsheet. Also, be able to search the history by name or phone number To find a particular call.

For context, the mobile client has complete call history, the desktop client does not.
This is a great idea. It would be very helpful to track call time alongside chat messages.
This is very important.. especially after Covid 19 en telework!
It would also be useful to consider missed calls as "unread" chat.
Currently we need to go to "Calls" and then "History" to see who actually called.
I think it would be much better to display the corresponding chat contact as "unread" and add an entry to that chat.

Completely agree: need a full call log, no matter whether the call is started from a chat, or from a calendar event.
I agree - we need to be able to log all communications with students. At the moment we are creating logs in different places just to keep track. We really need this feature

I would hugely appreciate this feature, too.
Do you know when this might be coming? We use the call log to integrate with our time recording software and this is incredibly useful. Not having the functionality in Teams will affect the adoption overall by the legal sector as a full replacement for Skype for Business.
Yes, I need the call history in chat.
How could you miss this?
In the meantime I'll continue to use Skype.

This must be added ASAP! How can I bill without minutes recorded? I don't want it linked to my phone and it comes to my laptop anyway. Skype is way better at this.
I think I found a way:
If the call had a calendar invite and was a "Teams Meeting", then you can go to 'Calendar' and double-click on the meeting in question. Then there are tabs at the top --> click on the 'Chat' tab and it should show how long the meeting lasted and who was on the call.

I can see a call history, but it does not show meetings (calendar does not suffice it shows the scheduled time, not the actual time)
The log does not seem to include everything (like calls made via "meet now" button?)
For compliance reasons we need a record of teams calls. Advanced eDiscovery shows a record of Teams instant messaging but not Teams calls. For example, record that an IM chat then escalated to call.

I agree call history should be included in the Chat dialogue. It is time consuming and a step backwards to have it listed only in the call tab. Have it there, too, if you like, but I miss this functionality that was in Skype Business - please bring it back to Teams!

Alex, it seems that you might not have not read though all the comments before posting this workaround. Many of the comments here posted BEFORE yours indicate that they are aware of the "Call History" but that it is insufficient because it doesn't show which chat a call was associated with. Even when it is possible to match a call with a single chat session, it impedes workflow significantly to switch back-and-forth to piece together the data. As others have said, this is an important feature missing in comparison with Skype for Business.
