Block specific phone numbers.
Block specific phone numbers.
The feature team is investigating how we can build this in the Teams admin center.

Any update regarding the availability of the feature to restrict dialing to specific numbers from Teams?
I frequently tell my users, Microsoft is a billion miles wide and 2cm deep. Lack of common sense features like blocking caller ID numbers, blocking unknown numbers, and quiet hours so employees arent phoned in the middle of the night are the missing depth. Its systemic across all tools including the darling "teams" team that simply cant help but stay basic for fear of __________? <- what I wouldnt do to understand

I've been directed here by the MS CSP tech support service and frankly, I'm shocked this is still not included and I'm having to add my voice here.
Not only does this need sorting for inbound calls but It would be even more useful to be able to block outbound calls to any number with a dialling prefix for premium-rate numbers.
Stopping users sat at home being able to call triple-x chat lines via Teams is an obvious example.
As per previous comments, this is basic functionality I had out of the box 15 years ago in a free-to-use open source Unix based solution.
Also, this under review status is glacially slow in getting done - 18 months now - come on Microsoft you are losing my sales team the ability to sell bucket loads of Business Voice licences to our customers.
It will be really help to block stalkers nd random texter as they irritate alot. Pls provide as soon as possible
Need this for organization-wide blocking of numbers.
Attached is a screencap of my colleague's voicemail box from a single weekend in which she received 20+ voice messages from bots.
So now I have yet another employee with the same issue happening and I see nothing on this page has happened. Is Microsoft still looking into this issue in Teams or have they moved onto more pressing problems. I opened up a ticket on this and I really don't want to sit on the phone for another three hours trying to get this issue addressed.
Please let me and the rest of this thread what has changed and if there is a fix or not?

What's the point, I blocked a number and it still rang through my extension. GIVE ME SPAM CONTROL FFS
I work on a helpdesk for my company and I am receiving more and more calls about robocalls entering Teams. So now not only are we saddled with multiple robocalls coming into our cell phones, but Teams is becoming inundated. We really need a filter soon for this issue.
this really needs to be a feature asap.
I have an employee who says she is receiving multiple robocalls daily through Teams and in such number that she cannot block them in the usual way. The number shows as a V number and then pops up as an 833 number, so the there is something strange going on here. First the V number appears and then if she click on it, it appears as an 833 number with different numbers after it. If she declines to answer the call it will send 6 different number simultaneously. The last 4 digits are the same on these spams. I am attaching 3 files to show you what I am seeing. I hope that you can get this issue handled before the rest of our 700 employees start calling. Thank you,

AT my organization, we get a ton of spam calls and threatening customers. Having the ability to block a number at the admin level for Teams is essential. Even if I block a number from an individuals account, sometimes that does not work and get called back the next day. Please make this a priority and implement this correctly.

There are approx 50+ pages of low vote count suggestions to block an individual - can these be combined to look at?
My use case, as security operations manager, is, either by the user or admin, to prevent person X (inside or outside of the organisation) from contacting person Y. In the same way email can be setup to block an individual or domain.
In the case of an admin having the option to output messages from person X to an admin account (with a sperate retention policy) this allows HR internal complaint investigations to be conducted and for external cases allows for law enforcement investigations.
Abusive messages and images;
Threats to kill;
these range through disgruntled customers, stalkers and domestic abuse examples.

Any update on this feature? Auto dialers can be a pain calling down banks of numbers so asking many users to block a single number is not efficient of time.
request open for two years and last update January... This is basic functionality for a VOIP system.
Please add this feature as admin we really need the ability to block spam and abusive calls for our staff.

It would be helpful to also be able to block phone numbers from the admin console. For example block a call for an auto attendant or call queue.

Can this feature be implemented with even more granular control?
This is all we have aside from making the user go out of their way to block the number:
We just (within the last 2-3 months) got Teams Voice fully running and we are getting robocalls left and right. Need a proactive tool rather than just reactive.
