Please allow Teams to access the same dictionary settings as the rest of Office and allow us to add words to that dictionary via Teams.
In the UK and specifically my corporation we use "advisor" but the spell check always highlights this as an error and suggest "adviser" which is quite annoying.
I though the dictionary might have been set to English US, but it's on UK and other UK spellings are not highlighted incorrectly. i.e. Colour...
For me it is annoying the fact that it doesn't have an automatic spell check. Also, it fails when I try to add a new word to the existing dictionary. Why Microsoft Teams word editor doesn't use the Office dictionary? I'm writing my dissertation now, and I feel that these issues are making my work more difficult. Although, I do use some features like this one https://wordfinderx.com in order to save time and effort. This one is extremely efficient, when writing the explanation for some acronyms or when defining the specific nomenclature. Anyway, I hope you'll find a solution to the dictionary problem.

Trying to write proposals for my dissertation and I'm using very niche terms for my study topic and it's incredibly frustrating to see the words repeatedly red-underlined. Same with citations (e.g., Bartomeus et al., 2016) - the names often appear as mis-spellings. Please fix this! This makes me not want to use Teams to collaboratively work on my research with other professionals.

Yet another request for "add to dictionary."
"Brianne", "CSS" and dozens of other words are not typos.
I automatically right-click and look for "Add to Dictionary" and it's missing and I realize, "oh, I'm in Teams aren't I?" I'm a UI/UX developer and this is incredibly frustrating.
Please make Teams use the same dictionaries as the MS Office applications.

Having Teams with it's own dictionary, or having access to the Office one ... or both with an order of precedence. Or maybe an additional access to online dictionary/spell check APIs also in the precedence lists.
Particularly in businesses that have their own, specific nomenclature, this would be highly valuable.
Customizing the Dictionary so that place names and Indigenous language could be used with spellcheck would be very helpful

It would be great if we could add words or names to a dictionary. I never like seeing those red squiggly lines, especially when it's a person's name. Thanks, that is all.

I work in a technical field and there are many words that are marked as incorrectly spelled.
It would be nice if I could add them to a dictionary, or use the Microsoft Word dictionary.

Teams is connected to outlook so they could at least not mark words in your outlook dictionary incorrect.
Most all other Office tools allow for words to be added to their dictionary. Why not Teams? Thanks for your attention and here's to having a better experience with a product that we all are relying on.

Microsoft should consider an "Add to dictionary" feature to the Teams App. In other words, a way to control the words used in messaging as to not populate a red underline error.
Even simple words and common city names are not added to the dictionary?
Include the "add to vocabulary" feature throughout the platform

It even flags their own products as misspellings: OneDrive, OneNote, Intune, Kaizala, etc.
