Add word to dictionary
We need a simple option to add a word to the dictionary.

Please fix this. Its built in dictionary is so poor.
Just archive teams. It is worse than any other form of communication. Whomever the people are that developed it should be caned.

Teams is connected to outlook so they could at least not mark words in your outlook dictionary incorrect.
Most all other Office tools allow for words to be added to their dictionary. Why not Teams? Thanks for your attention and here's to having a better experience with a product that we all are relying on.
This is basic and needs fixing:
Some examples translated in MS Teams from the Microsoft Leadership team:
Satya Nadella (Chief Executive Officer) =Sat ya Nader
Judson Althoff (Executive Vice President, Worldwide Commercial Business)=Judson Althea
Chris Capossela (Chief Marketing Officer......)=Chris Capella
Jean-Philippe Courtois (Executive Vice President......)=Jean-Philippe tortoises
Kurt DelBene (Executive Vice President, Corporate Strategy)=Kurt Delaney
Ryan Roslansky (CEO of LinkedIn)=Ryan Rosecrans
Rajesh Jha (Executive Vice President, Experiences and Devices)=hajjes ha
Even simple words and common city names are not added to the dictionary?

Another vote for this.
It even flags their own products as misspellings: OneDrive, OneNote, Intune, Kaizala, etc.

there should certainly be a way to add our team members' names, many of which are not Western-sounding. it's discouraging to have a terribly captioned word come up for human being's name without being able to correct it. The latest was the word criminal. Like, no. this isn't acceptable!

I was hoping to learn how to add words to the Teams dictionary only to find on this thread that it cannot be done. Hope Microsoft is listening because I too think this is ridiculous. With the pandemic, Teams is becoming more of standard and it clearly isn't up to snuff with basic features. While you're at it fix the fact that non-Teams users cannot watch a recorded meeting.

Teams doesn't even look up the windows user dictionary.
Which you can add to from apps like OneNote.

I would appreciate this option so we can have all staff names recognized in the dictionary
eg: Carsten; Noella
How is this not possible? I mean come on... Obtuse!

Please add this feature that is available across all other MS365 apps
This is ridiculous to not have such an obvious feature that all other o365 apps have. Even worse is that no-one from Microsoft appears to have chimed in or marked it as being worked on. You'd hope they would want to let us know they are reading this UserVoice.

Unbelievable that the product has been shipped without the capability to add words to the dictionary on the fly and edit the dictionary separately to remove words no longer required...!
Bret Juliano commented
This would be a great feature, especially for all of the acronyms that Teams doesn't recognize.
Please do this

Mine doesn't even recognize contractions. "I've" shows as misspelled. It wants me to change it to "I've" and it still shows misspelled. This REALLY needs to be fixed.
