Hide a user from Microsoft Teams
It would be very beneficial to be able to hide a user from showing as a Microsoft Teams user. Right now it is super confusing for users when old staff members whose mailboxes are still being used show in Microsoft Teams. There is currently no option to hide these users from showing as contacts in chats.

C'mon Microsoft. You can do it. You can do it all night long!
I can't believe, that unlicensed users are shown in teams

Please allow us to hide users in Teams!!!!

I had contacted Microsoft support and got the following statement:
In Teams, all users are displayed who are also stored in Azure AD (regardless of whether they have a licence in M365 or not).
You can only delete the AAD users or work with information barriers. But you have to license each user for the informations barriers.. and this is no option for me.
Microsoft please fix this! Our users are confused..

Has the Teams Product team responded to this yet?
This feature should have been at the first place. When Teams is a collaboration tool targeted for enterprise MS should have implemented this long time back.
Please bring the feature of hiding users (active or inactive) from Teams

The Special Services department in my school district would like to use it, but because of student privacy each student would need their own team or there needs to be a way to hide names of other students in class.

I agree with all concerns in this thread and will add my own. We have a user that left the company for a few months and returned. Now people are inviting the wrong Teams account to chats and getting confused why he doesn't comment. He's missing content and Teams is to blame. This needs to be higher priority.

so if someone in your tenant doesn't have a license for Teams, he should not show up I think, and to have the extra functionality to hide an account voluntarily would be an asset

This feature is much needed!!!

We need this feature implemented especially when you have admin users that you dont want them to show up in Teams users search.

This feature is much needed - hide Admin users.
This is a no brainer idea and should be implemented ASAP

It should be implemented very quickly
We also need this feature, any updates?
Any update on this? Can we get this added?
