Since the update during the week of May 7, 2018, every time I join a meeting, my system volume gets adjusted to be extremely high, which is highly uncomfortable with headphones.
Previously, the volume wasn't adjusted at all. Please restore it to this state.
The global volume automatically increasing to 20 is now fixed. If you are changing the Teams app volume you may still have an issue.
Thanks for your feedback. Please let us know if you are still having issues.
When I use my bluetooth earphones, the Teams meeting on my computer is so loud that I need to connect to my phone in parallel to be able to use them. At first, I could lower the volume in Teams app, but now when I put it at minimum and computer even at 0, it is still too loud to use.

Adding my voice to this: really awful ux.

Just installed on andriod v10.
In call volume maxes out and hurt my ears. (Using headphones)
Now my ears are sore.
Even on lowest volume it is too loud. Also can not lower volume past a certain point (voulme slider just stops)
Can not find any volume control in app. Only adjustble using mechanical volume controls on phone.
This is not easily useable in this state.
Dangerous to use.
Will have to stick to the Windows desktop app for now.
Still have the problem. Volume on 1 of 100 during team meeting only acceptable. Further more volume increases automatically to 100!!

After reinstalling work laptop, i have started to experience same behaviour as posted below. Extremely uncomfortable when i forget to take Jabra headset off my ears before entering meetings.

Same problem here, app volume for Teams jumps to 100 in App volume and device preferences causing painful and harmful volume with earbuds. This seems like a health and safety relevant bug that should be fixed with high priority!

I'm having the same problem. The Volumemixer shows that the general MS Teams volume setting sits and stays at 20, but each new call creates a separate column/setting in the volumemixer that starts at 100, which can't be lowered until after joining the call and enduring a few seconds of loud voices.
Similar problem here. Seems that Teams has its own sound setting regardless of the system volume, and it's super loud. I have to turn it down to minimum EVERYTIME I joined a meeting and I can't adjust it UNTIL I joined.
Still have the problem. With every new Teams call/videocall the volume level is maximum. And further more problem with JABRA Evolve Link MS Controller for Evolve 40 doesnt‘t work with teams. No volume or mute button! So I have to reduce with Win 10 volume options. Not comfortable! Pls fix this!
when using teams for video conferencing teams turns up the microphone level to maximum causing the endpoint to complain that we need to turn our microphone down when we do that teams turns it back up do you know of a solution to stop this happening and allow us to control the microphone level manually.

Still not fixed. With every incoming call, the volume of playing music suddenly becomes loud enough to startle.
Furthermore, the lowest in-call volume option is far too loud. I've taken to resting my headphones away from my ear to avoid hearing loss.
Still too loud. I think I have hearing loss after the last call I was on.
Please fix this… This is really annoying. It happens in Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. Using a Jabra Headset here. Disabling the local ringtone for the headset did not help.
i still have the problem that when starting a meeting in team the volume is set at 100% and therefore much too loud for the headphones. Is there any help?
I was experiencing the same issue using a Jabra headset. Disabling the "Ring in headset" option for both the headset and dongle resolved my issue.
I have found Teams relative volume setting (In App volume and device preferences) resetting itself to 100. It will do this in the middle of a phone call as well. We have good headsets, and teams is constantly too loud for me, and if I try to make it quieter, it overrides my setting after a short period of time.
Simple question to Teams UX team. Why is this happening at all???
This is still happening. Volume gets maxed any time a call or a meeting is joined.
Each and every time I make a call my ears get killed by this unresolved UX problem.
Add the option or get rid of this completely.
+1 for having an option to change the volume OnStart and OnEnd of the call
YES! This is a huge problem. I see the benefit of having the option, but make it configurable.
