I would really like the ability to choose which apps go in the sidebar. It just makes sense.

I ended up with some Assignments app in the left-hand nav that is useless for staff. How can I get rid of it?

Very surprised that this feature is not available already. A lot of waste of space that could be used for smart shortcuts

I am surprised I cannot customise it already
I searched for this feature and I'm shocked that customizing the sidebar isn't an option. This creates a strong opposition to using other apps that get stuck below the fold. This is a must-have feature to make this my go-to app.

This is a very needed feature!

This is a MUST have. O365 is so powerful, we need to focus users' eyes on the modules we're using.

we need this, requested by many customers

How is this not a solution? this is 2010 type of customization.

This is a must have (I agree with bgen it is a dupliacte with https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/34188208-customize-applications-within-sidebar-drag-and-dr)
Some of the most used apps (planner, onenote, help) are hidden behind the ... by default
ALSO - why does this not fill down when the screen is maximised ? (there is a fair amount of space there)
This is a must have... I now add a tab in the general channel to quick access Outlook365, OneNote, Sharepoint for everyone, but that's still not very convenient to get back and forth. It would be great if we can customize the shortcut to display in the left sidebar... maybe at the below of the default functions (i.e. below activity, chat, teams, meetings, calls, files).
Can we get this merged with similar suggestion: https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/34188208-customize-applications-within-sidebar-drag-and-dr
I feel like there are another 10 posts like this that we should consolidate as well - this would SIGNIFICANTLY improve the UI and make Teams much more functional if you could quickly access some of the apps here.
We started using shifts, but this is now hidden in the "..." left navigation item, where there is plenty of space to hold all the apps in the total list for me.
This is an absolute must-have for us.
My work Group would also like the ability to customize our sidebar, as an example "Shifts in the main menu bar alongside Comments and Files please
I agree. I'm shocked this isn't already a built-in feature. Definitely a bummer.

Agreed! Use Case:
Our product team uses a channel per work stream and many channels have their own planner board as the work streams are not always uniform. Even if the planner boards are basic.
As a user, I want to be able to pin my personal Planner Board, which inherits tasks from all planner boards in all channels, to my sidebar to reduce the use of ... for a high use action.
Bonus: As a user, let me default the view. I want to be able to choose to always default to My Tasks on my personal Planner Board. Activity is not what I'm interested in when I open up Planner. My interest is being able to evaluate activities in flight, not recent activity.
Definitely - especially for things like Planner - such a small change could make such a big difference!
