get rid of the bloat
Make stripped down version that doesn't eat too many computer resources. All I want/need is to post a question in plain text and get an answer

One goal for good software is that you don't pay for what you're not using. If you don't have a channel open, it shouldn't be resident in RAM. That way, you can have a nice full-featured app but without too much bloat.
The other side of this coin is that you *do* want the stuff you're working on to be cached locally and instantly available. The balancing act between these two requirements can be quite tricky.
The plain UI is a very popular request - main thread is here: https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/17408641-please-create-a-professional-compact-chat-layout

it not so simple when others want feature rich software like slack... there are other tickets working on performance. When presented with Teams, what was annoying or not needed? what made you putting in that comment slower? any detail will help the team understand the root cause
