Schedule message to send at a later time
Often some member of our team finds themselves with a good idea or an interesting article that they want to post on MS Teams while it is fresh in their mind... at 6:00AM on a Saturday. This tends to wake people up if they keep Teams on their phone and don't have it on silent. It would be very nice to have the option to be considerate to those still in slumber and schedule a Teams message to go out at a later time. Many SMS messaging apps have this feature these days.

I think it would make more sense to have a draft default as "pinned" automatically rather than having it be deleted automatically. I would imagine more users run into the issue of needing to pin their drafts more so than needing to delete their drafts so the need to hard-code drafts being pinned automatically makes much more sense.

I sometimes start a message, leave and forget to return to it for days. Please help me realize when I have left one or more of these "drafts" sitting around. Perhaps give me a filter for drafts
Something needs to get my attention when I leave a draft message sitting around.
Drafts should be visible across desktop and web application.
Perhaps give me an activity indicator for Drafts (<count>) which can be clicked to get an activity list of drafts.

This would be great! Another use-case is in a classroom setting. A teacher can queue up one or more messages to be sent to their class ahead of time.
When starting a new chat to a person or group I have not chatted to before, and after typing some text I stop typing message, because I need do something else and read some other message, it disappears and I cannot get to it again. It is gone. Why can't the draft be auto saved, so I can come back to it? For existing conversations it is not a problem.
Possibility to choose to send chat message later automatically when person has gone available. A red balloon does not tell me how busy that person is and many send message anyway.

My workaround for this is to pin the chat until I send the draft. Hopefully this gets fixed eventually.

Agree with that use case, and here's another: we want to boost adoption of Teams by providing "quick tips" on a regular cadence. We know the topics/tips we want to provide, but we keep missing the date we're supposed to post. It would be nice to be able to write these posts up-front and schedule them to go out in our desired timeline--and then not have to worry about it for months, til we need the next round of topics.
Even a timed alert would be great.

I have *many times* begun a chat message, gotten side-tracked, and left the message unsent. I only realize this hours, days or weeks later, the next time I want to message the same person.
IDEA: Prompt, "Do you want to send your message?" at the time the user attempts to change focus.
Give options: Send, Save Draft, or Discard, one of which must be chosen in order to move to a different place or conversation.
make it a shortcut "/unsent"
Workplace by Facebook as those features. You can save as draft and easily find your draft later. Also have an option to schedule when your message is sent (great for announcement, recurring messages or to not bother staff outside the business hours)

Yet another case which would be solved by giving all views persistent state.

When a user types the draft of a new chat message, then switches to another chat (possibly to gather some information or copy text), the new chat is closed although the message draft is saved. It is tedious to go back to the group / recipient to re-open that chat.
Could you keep it rather open until a user decides to close it?
I'll THIRD this comment. I just had two messages I thought I had sent, and another that I had edited but not hit the SEND button.... I, also, am using the dark theme. It would be nice if a draft message would turn orange (for example) so it was clearly visible.
Seconded - it would be nice if there was a more obvious UI cue that demonstrated when text on a conversation was just an unsent draft. Using the dark theme, it's easy to miss that a message is unsent.
Mark somehow a draft message in the Team as a reminder to notify the creator that the message has not been sent yet and the message is opened/in progress.
When you're typing a message it's not always saved as a draft? I've just typed a fairly large post (yes I know they prob shouldn't be large), was @mentioning a few people, but wanted to see the channel member list incase I've missed anyone important. When I selected 'This team has guests' and went back the text had disappeared and had to start again (Note - I'm on someone else's tenant if that makes a difference)

It would be great to see if I have an unsent message in another channel or a chat so that I don't forget which channel or team I was writing something in or who I was writing something to. Also so that I don't forget to send something at all.
