Schedule message to send at a later time
Often some member of our team finds themselves with a good idea or an interesting article that they want to post on MS Teams while it is fresh in their mind... at 6:00AM on a Saturday. This tends to wake people up if they keep Teams on their phone and don't have it on silent. It would be very nice to have the option to be considerate to those still in slumber and schedule a Teams message to go out at a later time. Many SMS messaging apps have this feature these days.

Sure. So i want to add code snippets and other teams nice features in chat and all I can do is send an email? This is beyond goofy. Add a dropdown to the send button with send in small list of reasonable future times like 15 minutes, an hour, and a custom that let's me set a specific time in the future.
A native built-in feature for scheduling messages is highly appreciated.
Another similar feature that I miss very much is delaying the message delivery until the recipient's status is "available" (for 1 minute or so): https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/40425622-leave-it-on-there-delayed-messaging

Send Later, our app for Microsoft Teams, can help you out and is now published:
You can directly install it in Teams through this link:
It'll add an additional icon to your chat box where you can schedule a message to be delivered at a future point in time. You can give it a try for free and we'd love to hear you feedback :)

I'm a high school teacher and I want to schedule chat messages so I can post feedback to my students on Saturday when I'm working but they shouldn't have to hear from their teacher. They could then find it Monday morning when they're back on campus.
This would be a great addition

+1 on this, this would be an excellent feature.
Working late nights, I don't want to disturb my colleagues. While the thoughts are fresh, I'd like to send a message at a scheduled time.
Hoping to see this implemented soon :)
Mejora la productividad de los equipos y a no olvidar enviar los mensajes importantes
I’m still hoping to see this feature added soon (my team would probably like it more)
Yes please add this delay send feature..

MUST HAVE - I can't believe in an enterprise app that this is missing. Facebook @Work has it, Slack has it, DIscord as it, yet Teams does not, pretty lame.
Come on, people. I do not want to wake up my staff at 4 AM when I'm trying to send a message out with a status update about a server that went down at, and I do not want to have to wake up 3 hours later at 7 AM so that I can send a status updates out and go back to bed.
Give me a break.. this feature should be a no brainer.
If you want to make it fabulous.. add employee schedules and then make it so when I send an email, I can say "send during business hours", otherwise you should at least let me scheduled it.
I hope this goes off right now and wakes up all the MS Engineers who are responsible for not having this feature; if I'm lucky, I just woke up at least 30 Microsoft employees who were sleeping at 3:17 AM posting this :-)
(I'm joking obviously, but come on people, get it together, this is a must-have)
Please add this feature as a high-priority, it's a huge necessity for life/work balance - I find myself right now with a message sitting in a Teams chat but I don't want to send it after hours and disturb my colleague until tomorrow am.
This is pretty important as a feature, my work hours are different from my teammates hours, and they are in another country. It's much better if I can schedule a message to be delivered when they start work.
This is a very important feature, please add it
Please, add this feature!!! Also necessary for education.
This would be a great feature.
It would also be great if the setting can include option to set message to deliver when recipient is "available" . (Not just at a specific time). I hate to send a message then realise a person is in a call or presenting, causing them distraction. Equally Iit's annoying for me to leave as a draft and try to keep checking person's status.
Unless this feature is already there?
This is such a great idea.
Please Microsoft please implement this function.

This seems like necessary for good collaboration. Some people work at odd hours and don’t want to bug their employees or coworkers. Seems huge quality of life improvement and helps create better work life balance for others.
If not delay maybe a low priority option that doesn’t notify the other person through push or other means that way they see it but if they happen to check then they can see the message. Delay notification would be ideal tho.
