Schedule message to send at a later time
Often some member of our team finds themselves with a good idea or an interesting article that they want to post on MS Teams while it is fresh in their mind... at 6:00AM on a Saturday. This tends to wake people up if they keep Teams on their phone and don't have it on silent. It would be very nice to have the option to be considerate to those still in slumber and schedule a Teams message to go out at a later time. Many SMS messaging apps have this feature these days.
Would be super helpful, especially for those working across time zones
Yes, This would be tremendously helpful, to send delayed messages, as our team is trying to strictly use Teams as a primary mode of communication.
This is an essential addition for the message that you don't want to send at night to bother someone during their own time, but it is important and can not be forgotten. Especially now during COVID we need to be cognizant of our humanity and not interrupt our colleagues during their off hours. I end up still using Outlook for many messages that I would rather send from Teams or SharePoint. Please add the ability to delay send, ideal options would be 1) when next available online 2) at a certain time like the Outlook delay send option. Thanks in advance !
+1 for this one ! Constantly working over the week end and I won't infortunate my colleague during this.

This is a great feature for us especially we use Teams to post announcements in an orderly manner. We are very particular in posting them in exact time for easier tracking in the future.
This feature can make a workplace more modern, inclusive and asynchronous.
Almost every day I wish I had this.
When reviewing this feature request, please consider also the following ones, as there is a non-trivial number of people split between them. Around 2800 in total, including this one:

I get this request all the time across our org. Many people do work in evenings or weekends and want to post messages while top of mind yet not want to disturb others or force them to feel an obligation to respond. This leaves them resorting to email or creating notes and hoping they remember to send out OR actually disturbing others with a 3am ping. No one wants to use a 3rd party app for this. Security is king. Plus, the fact we can do in Outlook only makes people see this is an oversight - especially as we are trying to push Teams as the single, central communication and collaboration tool

How about just an OFFLINE mode. Teams will allow you to still work to some extent. Does anybody know how to take it offline?

I do a lot of work over the weekend and am always sending Teams messages. My employee have Teams on their phone, so their phone is constantly beeping. Because its the boss, they feel they have to look and even answer. Im catching heat for this from HR who says I should not be messaging them over the weekend. Then how am I to do work! Desperately need delayed Teams messaging just like Outlook has. Thinking about just working with Teams offline but minute I put back online for other reasons, there it goes. Which teams had an offline mode. Appear offline status change is not it. Anybody have any ideas?

I have learned that you can use the add on "Send Later" on the additional app area below where you type out a message on the bottom of a specific chat. This will allow you to schedule a message to go out on a specific chat for a specific day at a specific time
Since working with Microsoft Team this year, I am amazed and how slow these important features are to get in place. Also disappointed by the lack of response from Microsoft Teams on important issues such as this that get upvoted thousands of times.
This feature would really ease up some stress I have around not bothering my coworkers outside of work hours, and I wouldn't have to set alarms to remind me to send messages as well.

Sure. So i want to add code snippets and other teams nice features in chat and all I can do is send an email? This is beyond goofy. Add a dropdown to the send button with send in small list of reasonable future times like 15 minutes, an hour, and a custom that let's me set a specific time in the future.
A native built-in feature for scheduling messages is highly appreciated.
Another similar feature that I miss very much is delaying the message delivery until the recipient's status is "available" (for 1 minute or so): https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/40425622-leave-it-on-there-delayed-messaging

Send Later, our app for Microsoft Teams, can help you out and is now published:
You can directly install it in Teams through this link:
It'll add an additional icon to your chat box where you can schedule a message to be delivered at a future point in time. You can give it a try for free and we'd love to hear you feedback :)

I'm a high school teacher and I want to schedule chat messages so I can post feedback to my students on Saturday when I'm working but they shouldn't have to hear from their teacher. They could then find it Monday morning when they're back on campus.
This would be a great addition

+1 on this, this would be an excellent feature.
Working late nights, I don't want to disturb my colleagues. While the thoughts are fresh, I'd like to send a message at a scheduled time.
Hoping to see this implemented soon :)
