How can we make Microsoft Teams better?

Ability to open multiple documents

Currently If I am editing a File in Teams, and if I have to refer another file present in Teams, I have to forcefully close existing document and go to the next file. It will be a nice to have feature if I can open other documents in Preview mode if I am editing a document.

    Please get this going asap! unfortunately my documents are only available in teams so I do not have a choice but to close out of one then go to the other.

    Agree, we need to switch between documents that we can only work in one document one at a time is archaic.Time to modernise this programme:--)

    I completely agree! Being able to switch quickly between different files is an essential user need. Why do I have to go for workarounds (multiple browser tabs) or download files and work outside of teams? Moreover, I also need to switch back-and-forth between editing a file and accessing other functionalities of Teams, say Calls, without closing the file.

    Yes this is really annoying. I have to go back to working on my desktop apps, then fiddling around a lot.
    Google's system of always opening new files etc as new tabs is much better.

    Yes! This features is so badly needed. If Teams is truly where we're directing our end users to go to collaborate, we need to be able to reference other documents, chats, files, tabs, simultaneously in order to gather the information we need while working!

    Agreed, would be useful to even have the ability to minimise documents so you can quickly flip between them.

    Agreed! The user experience of working with a Word doc should be the same across platforms, which means Teams should allow opening multiple documents at a time. This is a very common workflow and a critical shortcoming of Teams.

    Yes, this is sooo annoying and makes me long for Sharepoint ... How difficult can it be to open each task in a new tab? While being in a conference call and wanting to share documents, I loose track of where I am and the view on the document

    One way to work around this is to access TEAMS from multiple tabs in a web browser.
    This way you can access as many things as you like at the same time...from any team.

    This really needs to be a priority feature. Creating a document viewer window should not be too complicated. Even if it is limited to two documents that would be understandable. Is there a way we can push this prioritization via our sales rep/customer support channel?
