Allow Sorting Videos in Stream Tab
In the Microsoft Stream tab, when linking to a channel, let us sort the videos like we can when we're actually using Stream. I want to sort by Published Date, but the default sort seems to be by views, so all of our new videos are pushed all the way to the bottom.

Good day,
unfortunately, the order of videos that I have sorted in Stream by "name" are displayed in the wrong order in Teams. In Stream the videos are sorted in ascending order, but in Teams they are sorted in descending order.
The other sorting options work fine. Only sorting by "name" does not work!
Please create a way to display them in the correct order.
Thanks! -

This is sad, that in the 21st century a basic sort cannot be garnered from the Stream app sort parameter.

We have lots and lots of videos in Stream, sorted in Stream channels. The users access the videos from Teams, one Stream channel are linked in each tab in the team. We need to sort the videos by name and also to be able to search for the tags that we created for the videos in Stream. It is impossible to do that now.
Best Regards,

Microsoft, you need to sort this or we will leave Teams and Stream; we need to be able to re-order the videos (viewed in Teams) for ease of navigation by students in a learning environment.

I have this tab with a Stream Channel (see attached file).
There I place videos of my classes (I am an educator using Teams) form Microsoft Stream.
The problem is that there is no way to sort them by title or by date, etc. It would be wonderful to be able to sort them in the Tab by date, name, date published, etc.
The streaming channel is set to be shown by date, but in Teams it is not shown that way. I don't know the criteria used by Teams Tab to show the videos.
Could you recommend that feature to the development team in order to improve the Video Streaming Tab in Teams.
also, please include an option to show the full description of the video, not just the first few words of the description.
Thank you

I've been posting videos for my students but they don't show up in order by publication date. I'm working with young children who don't have the skills to search through these videos. Please allow me to set up my stream tab so it has the newest videos first!

@Phillip Anderson, could you help me sort my videos? I added the ?sort=date at the end of the URL, but it does not seem to work. What am I missing?
I'm trying to sort the group videos: https://web.microsoftstream.com/group/XXXXXXXXXXXX?view=videos
I appreciate the help!

The sorting seems random... not alphabetical, not most- to least-watched, not by publication date, not by video length... I just uploaded a new video and it appears roughly in the middle .

You *can* have sorted videos in a tab - create a Website tab, rather than a Stream tab, and add one of the following to the end of the channel URL:
?sort=name {to sort alphabetically - best for grouping by category/topic}
?sort=date {to sort by publish date}
?sort=views
?sort=likes
?sort=trending -

I copy my comment from similar request on Schools & Universities: https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/599053-schools-and-universities/suggestions/38460895-stream-tab-allow-sorting-filtering-of-videos
There should be an option to select sort method when creating a tab. We have lots of lecture videos and without sorting students are unable to go conveniently from the first lecture part to the second one.

To circumvent this for students, i have asked them to use the stream link in the tab to go to the Stream site directly, where i have changed the default sort order.

Very annoying how I can't sort my video's by publication date in this tab. I'm using Teams for my class of kids and want to put the daily instruction videos in the Streams tab. Right now they have to search for them and it's very annoying.

Stream in general has a messed algorithm for sorting. But this one is the worst. Not sure who's brilliant idea was to default sort by not published date, but seriously, why can we at least not override this?

Need sorting by date and name (at least), and also different views (e.g., list, thumbnails). Then allow addition/editing of notes or other attributes.

I have a Stream tab in one channel with over 30 video's, I can sort them in Stream but they appear to be random in the Teams view. It would be nice if the sorting carried over. A compact (list) view would also be nice.

Add "Search for videos" search box and "Sort by" drop-down box that is on the Channel page in Stream itself.
For the tab, add a setting that sets the default "Sort by" order, e.g. set default to "Publish date" when anyone first visits the tab, then they can change the "Sort by" order for that visit with the drop-down choice to make finding the video stream they want easier. On the next visit by anyone, the view defaults back to what's set on the Tab settings.

Also would like grouping so videos can be classified by subject areas
