Disbale autostart in Teams App for the entire tenant
Admins need the ability to disable the Teams auto-start for the entire organization, instead of each end user having to go in and stop Teams application from automatically starting when you boot up your device.
We need the ability to control whether or not to auto start teams within the Tenant.
Appreciate ADMX templates are a step in the right direction, but a lot of environments don't have local AD anymore so hoping for a better solution.
If I have teams turned off at the Tenant level why on earth does Microsoft think that it is a good idea to auto install it on all users machines then people go whats this and I go we are not approved internally to use it. What I am trying to say is if it is off at the Admin level don't automatically install it. Thanks
On July 9, Microsoft released new ADMX template files (4882.1000) to prevent Teams from starting automatically after installation (on every logon) until the user starts the program manually. Instructions can be found here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/deployoffice/teams-install#use-group-policy-to-prevent-microsoft-teams-from-starting-automatically-after-installation
GPO name is "Prevent Microsoft Teams from starting automatically after installation" under User Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\Microsoft Teams
You can also prevent Teams from being installed completely using official ADMX policies: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/deployoffice/teams-install#use-group-policy-to-control-the-installation-of-microsoft-teams
Agreed! If I want to use it, I'll use it, but since I have no need for it, I don't want it to autostart.

I agree entirely
Please allow me to disable Microsoft Teams on startup. It is very irritating having this popup everytime i turn the computer on. I have absolutely ZERO need for teams, now or ever.

I agree they need to stop this constant garbage of forcing their software into your face against our wishes. Even better there is a toggle to disable teams from
Each portal license and install that does absolutely nothing at this point, but it’s ok because Microsoft needs to leave that useless parameter there so they can have time to develop more garbage to shove down our throats while continuing to ignore what their paying users need fixed.

Microsoft needs to give SysAdmins the option to turn off by default. We don't have plans to use Teams and it's disrupting the user experience. I don't want to manually disable at every workstation. Infuriating when they decide stupid things like this.
I agree as well. I get several calls from the computer challenged about this, and some call several times a day because they can.
I agree 100%.
