Disbale autostart in Teams App for the entire tenant
Admins need the ability to disable the Teams auto-start for the entire organization, instead of each end user having to go in and stop Teams application from automatically starting when you boot up your device.

The ability to use a Group Policy to prevent Microsoft Teams from starting automatically after installation was added in June ’19. Please see the documentation here: https://docs.microsoft.com/deployoffice/teams-install#use-group-policy-to-prevent-microsoft-teams-from-starting-automatically-after-installation

Agree with others here, the solution provided isn’t a fix, it’s a workaround.

To echo what some others have said, the GPO is only effective in preventing teams from starting for new user logons, so is only practical for new deployments of the app.
There are other methods (e.g. group policy registry preference with apply once) to remove the startup items or adjust the "startup apps" configuration, though this will need to run in the user space, and if Teams is already installed the app can run the first time they log on if the config hasn't applied in their profile.Luckily for us, we're only just starting the deployment of Office 365 with Teams, so this method works for us. So I feel for others who already have the app deployed in their environment.

Proposed fix is only for autostart after installation is done, Teams will continue to autostart at Windows boot. Uservoice is useless, Microsoft employees clearly does not care or even bother to read what the issue really is.

The group policy solution doesn't help when you're pushing everyone to non active directory environments. Please re-open this request and resolve it by allowing either a reg change on the endpoints, or a setting within the Office 365 portal that allows us to change the default behaviour for clients.

Is this resolved yet? I’ve uninstalled it and it still comes up!

At least make a GPO option for us. Pretty please?

This is vitally important. We have 1800 students and 200 staff who use various computers around the school and they have to select this option every time they login to a computer. This also poses as a distraction for many users and is causing much frustration amoung staff. Please provide a solution as soon as possible.

Really! If there's no way to stop the annoying "join MICROSOFT teams" popup every time I boot I'll have to find how to avoid using such an UNHELPFUL company

Oh My My!! There is absolutely no need for the autostart up please allow it to be disabled across the entire Organisation. Staff across the company are sick of Teams before even knowing what it is or using it. Why does it install even if disabled on license toggle? Come on Microsoft sort it out. Does anyone know if a Powershell script can be executed through Intune to take care of this?

We are trying to encourage our clients to utilize Teams, however the obnoxious auto-starting for the one's that don't currently use it is making it a very hard sell as their opinion of it is already very negative. PLEASE introduce the ability to disable this tenant wide.
