DO NOT DISTURB- DOESN'T WORK
Make the "Do Not Disturb" actually not disturb! I hate that I still receive notifications on my PC as well as on my phone when in DND. It doesn't even send a message to people that this person is unavailable so they can't send you a message.

I have been in DND mode all day to work on a deadline and I have had nothing but interruptions. It is frustrating that the only way the feature functions properly is if you close the app and use something else for communicating with others. Skype worked much better than Teams. At least I can silence my phone.

I agree it's ridiculous - you're trying to do a presentation and there's no option to not have boxes come up. Microsoft always misses the real world with whoever designs their code

Yes please!! Skype didn't allow people to even message you when on Do Not Disturb but you could have your group that could still reach out. This is so important for people in support roles. If I set myself to Do Not Disturb and everyone can still message me, I just have a huge backlog of messages to respond to once I'm available. Do Not Disturb in it's current form is pretty much useless.

yes.. PLEASE
-add a way to block certain people from chat (but not from phone and email)
-add a way to block all incoming chats (but not phone and email) except from priority contacts
-add a way to block all incoming calls (but not and chat and email) except from priority contacts
-add a way to block all incoming chats (but not phone and email)
-add a way to block all incoming calls (but not chat and email)-update the search function, to include Teams own settings
(for example: search "priority contacts." in Teams. It would be nice if Teams would then tell you about priority contacts in privacy settings, rather than about adding normal contacts) -

I have same issue, when I activate DnD I still receive messages, notifications from my contacts!! I tried to look at some settings in teams but there is nothing about it just to set people who can disturb you. I have no one set but still receive messages! Anyone knows how to fix it?

DND needs a silent mode – this is do-not-disturb plus no visual indication of any messaging activity. For example, bolding of incoming chat messages from individuals or groups, and no popup notifications. Turning off silent mode would then restore the display to normal, and show who sent messages. The user will still be able to send and read chat messages if needed while in silent mode. Excluding certain users can be set, so notifications and alerts will work as normal for those individuals.

I'm confused... what is the purpose of adding "priority contacts" if it doesn't restrict who can initiate a chat with you. I set myself to DND and still get other people (i.e. not on my priority contacts) initiating chats with me.

I had expected DND would be the same as Skype and notify people up front that I was unavailable and any messages would be sent via email. But instead I see there is a chat awaiting me (Teams icon) and now I can't ignore that person/request. Their expectation is an immediate response from me.

A must have feature. It disrupts the work when you are in a meeting and sometimes irritated.

This is so neccessary! Please update this asap. My PC freezes very often when I am presenting and somebody is calling.

This needs to happen. DnD is an essential requirement to be able to focus.

Agreed. It's still interrupting me and it's incredibly frustrating. I put focus time on the calendar and DND time just so I can get through work (especially during COVID) and it does nothing. I have to shut Teams completely. I can't believe after 2 years they still haven't fixed this. It wasn't an issue on skype

DND is still not working, you can change your status but people can still interrupt you whenever they want, I cannot get through my calls presenting without interruptions, Microsoft Teams NEED to get this feature fixed, I have reported it to my IT team and they are having the same issues with DND. this is bad that they would release an incomplete program/app to the market and with all these faults.

I'm so glad I found this thread. This actually speaks my mind. Please make "do not disturb" actually NOT disturb, which means no flashing in the taskbar.

The Do Not Disturb feature ceased working within the last couple of weeks. Only recently have I been able to have interruptions when the DND is on. This should be corrected to deliver proper functionality.

Are any Microsoft personnel attending to this thread? I don't see any Microsoft responses.

Do not disturb doesn't work as we would all expect it to. Instead DND is actually just "do not send pop-up notifications but I will still put flashing icons in your application bar with distracting 1 signs..."

It used to work. I don't know for sure when it stopped working, or I could link it to a specific update. If I don't want to be disturbed, I have to log completely out of Teams on my computer and phone. Since my entire office teleworks, this provides poor visibility of my status to my management. It needs to be fixed.
