Break out rooms for teams calls.
To be able to use teams to conduct training webinars, would want to be able to have delegates breakout of main video call into seprate channels to have smaller group chats and come back into main room. Without having to drop in and out of calls.
4 breakout channels are not enough in the context of Teams for education.
Is Microsoft planning on enabling more than 4 breakout channels like Zoom already does?
Currently very difficult to persuade teachers to use Teams over Zoom.....
Yes- Please strongly consider.
another facility which is absolutely critical for facilitating group sessions ... and another area where zoom beats Teams currently.
any update on whether this can be worked on?

Agree 100%. Breakout rooms are becoming an essential part of online meetings. It's the reason we use Zoom and also Zoom works easily across all platforms and devices.
This is essential functionality. Please add!
We need this now more than ever with online workshops in the COVID-19 era.
We are performing a wide range of UX and Design Thinking workshops using collaborative whiteboard tools like Miro.
We get everyone to muster in the one room for an introduction and then disperse off into separate rooms. That's 4 Teams Calls. Then when we want people to work in pairs, that then requires us to setup 6 calls for 12 participants to break off into. Afterwards, we all come back and share our findings in the one Teams call. Upwards of 20 calls are required for a workshop with 20 participants. It's a lot of setup, a lot of confusion for some low-tech users, and has a lot of friction for the participants.
It would be great if this functionality, much like Zoom, could be integrated into Teams.
Please add breakout rooms in Teams meetings
Zoom has this
Please add break out rooms for Teams meetings! It is essential to our business.
Please add Break Out Rooms, it will be really helpful and easier for teams calls.
Please add Break Out Rooms.
We really could use this functionality. Teams brings plenty to the table its competitors don't. But when customer is looking for apples to apples for meetings, this is a big one.

We still have to use Zoom for this.

We've just rolled out teams across our organisation which is great. The challenged - we require this for advanced use cases (e.g. online learning environments with breakout rooms), polls etc
Is this coming? or should we revert to Webex

This seems like the same request as https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/35000044-introduce-breakout-room-functionality which has more votes.

Please add Breakout meeting room feature in Microsoft Teams. This is a highly requested feature among our users.
Any update on this would be much appreciated.

Voting on behalf of Lancaster University - 12000 students, about 20% of whihc could use this feature. We too are buying Zoom for this purpose and would prefer to use teams.

Ended up here for the same reason as Ian below - company is switching to Zoom because of the break-out room functionality. Come on Microsoft, you need to keep agile if you want to drive Teams adoption :-) Is it on the radar??

Our company is still using Adobe Connect and Zoom for break-out rooms. The same feature in Teams would be great.
