We need a disclaimer to appear as the first chat or response from our users to any user outside of our Azure tenant. The disclaimer needs to either include our legal language or a URL to the legal language. Alternately, if we could include a URL in the user's profile, this would also count to fulfill our disclaimer requirement.

Teams is an ongoing chat service with communications archived in user mailbox or modern group (Teams team) mailboxes. There isn't really a start and end to a chat session, so when would you expect this disclaimer to appear? Perhaps the risk can be mitigated by an internal company policy with annual employee acknowledgement or a chat bot created to inject the disclaimer developed by a third party or your company.

We were looking for a disclaimer message at teams startup which states to abide with the companies Security policy.
So that users are aware of what to share on Teams. -

We need to add a disclaimer to Teams, advising that chat will be recorded/retained.

Yes agree with this comment. We need to add a disclaimer to our messages so this functionality is very important and is available in other messaging platforms

If you want us to replace Skype with Teams, we need the same capabilities. Teams has a meeting disclaimer that we can add to invites (like Skype). We ALSO need a disclaimer when people are chatting that conversations are logged.

Advising that chat will be recorded/retained was a feature of Skype For Business Server

When staff join a Teams meeting that’s being recorded, there is a banner and a link to a privacy policy. It would be ideal if Teams can signal the other side if chat is being recorded/retained also. This would allow use of Teams with external parties.

• If a client we are chatting to on IM gives us information about *themselves* we need to provide that person with a Privacy Notice “at the time when the personal data are obtained” (GDPR - Art. 13(1)) – before the IM chat commences would be ideal.
• If a client on IM gives information about *another person* (e.g. colleagues/relevant shareholders etc) we need to provide the Privacy Notice to that other person “within one month of obtaining the personal data” (GDPR – Art. 14(3)(a)) – unless this proves impossible or would involve disproportionate effort. -
