open any File associated with locally installed applications.
From windows explorer I can open any file in the locally installed application. From Team channel files this is not possible. The file association is missing. understandable, but it would be a great improvement if Teams can open any file with an associated locally installed application.
This would go a long way to make teams more usable. I almost never want an attachment to be opened in teams. When using chat, it's too hard to switch back and forth between the attachment and typing a response. It's a big time waster. I can not emphasize enough how much opening an attachment in the team viewer damages the Teams experience.

I totally agree and strongly demand the option for each individual Teams user to customize the behaviour of file-open-actions. This must also be true for Teams-Links to documents, that arrive by Email for example. If such a link arrives, the opening application Teams should handover this document to the local installed Application (if that is set as preferred Option by user)
The moment we click on edit button, it should open the locally installed Excel application the opening online. Please help..

This is huge for us. We work with a lot of non-Office documents (mostly text files) and have to use OneDrive to sync the Team library instead of using Teams directly. File links are basically useless to us.
