It would be nice to be able to setup up dependencies. For example within a board be able to set a task that has to be completed before another task can be started. This would be even more helpful if when the frist task was completed the assigned personal on the next task where alerted so they could start their task. This isn't meant to compete with Shartpoint or Project Manager. I'm not trying to setup a Project as much as allow my Network team alert my ground team that the network is ready for the change over that they need to do.

Yes. Dependencies and subtasks that can have a different assignee. We're about to look elsewhere for our task tool because this one leaves a lot to be desired.
This would be a huge value-add for Planner!
Without dependencies, most of the functionality of the task manager is not being utilized. It is such a small and simple addition that would make a massive difference in the usefulness of this tool. Because of the lack of this feature I may have to move away from Teams.
I agree that this would be an important feature.

I don't think this will be added soon, because this is exactly the unique functionality that Project Online gets you (along with more robust tracking and progress features), still I voted for it!
Lack of dependencies, not being able to copy entire buckets (so we can set up a reusable template) makes Planner a deal breaker for my Team.

Without dependencies, planner really isn't that useful to me.
Definitely don't need MS Project-level functionality, but the "this thing needs to happen before we can start this other thing" is critical.

Upvoted this. I wanted to add a whole bunch of tasks to a channel but without dependencies, it becomes a big mess. Our organization is looking into purchasing licenses for leankit.com which would probably reduce the acceptance of Teams :-(
