Call Contact's Work or Cell phone
When I click the call button on a contact, Teams automatically begins a teams/skype call to the user. It should offer options to call the user's phone numbers (work/cell/other) or to make a skype/teams call, similar to the drop down menu offered by skype for business.

We have 280 remote locations that have old school PBX's with POTS lines and 200 users in our HQ with Teams with full phone PSTN calling. We are unable to call them from our corporate address book as we did in Skype. This is a big issue for us. The workaround of copy and past of the phone number is not acceptable to our users
Any news MS on this issue ? This is massively impacting the user experience and jeopardizing the usability of Teams as VoIp platform.

This actually works from chat now. clicking on the phone in the chat screen gives you the choice of calling their cell phone or through teams. This does not work from the calling card screen. They need to bring that functionality to the call center.
Not having this feature is one of the three (3) primary reasons we have not rolled out Teams org-wide yet. Still testing.
When will MSFT comment on this adding this feature?

We would like to see this feature added as well to make it easier to call a contact in our organization that may not have MS Teams available on their mobile phone (e.g. a field tech)

This is a requirement before I migrate the rest of my users to MSTeams.
I see this as being critical for the following reasons
1. To have feature parity with SFB. Having to go back to dialling phone numbers is a huge step backward
2. When a user is offline\out of office you want the ability to call a cellphone number etc.
3. Many companies have a mixed estate of legacy PBXs and MS Phone system. Very useful to be able to call the desk phone of legacy phone user.
