I am angry because I must rewrite a plan that was accidentally deleted!
What’s going on in the minds of people who neglect backup and restore?
If I was taking IT-decisions in my organization, I would never allow anyone to use Planner for serious business. It’s just too expensive to pay people for doing the same work several times. -

This is increasingly important as more people adopt Planner in their workflows.

I have just logged in to Planner to discover at least 3 Plans have been deleted.... Could Microsoft please consider this issue as a priority!

sorry, but if I take a look at the planner roadmap, I am really wondering about Microsofts product management capabilities...
https://www.microsoft.com/de-at/microsoft-365/roadmap?filters=Planner
First fix the stuff to make Planner useable, and afterwards do stuff like dark mode, creating task out of conversations and so on... for sure very useful features, but maybe not the right priority now.
If i buy a new car i want to make sure it brings me from A to B, no matter if l have USB A or USB C slots available to load my phone.

In my opinion the "recover deleted task and buckets" functionality would make sense, but at the end it is a consequence of the missing authorization concept in Planner. Operationally, group owner, group members and guests have the same rights in terms of creating/updating/deleting buckets ands tasks... that makes a usage in a production environment really risky and kind of impossible.

I copied a full plan with multiple buckets to anther channel hoping to cut my time and not have to recreate the whole plan again. When I made changes to the "newly copied" plan to tailor it and deleted two buckets, my original templates were gone. It does not make logical sense that it would not actually be a true copy-- where they are unrelated. Solutions appreciated to make planner more functional.

Just somehow wiped clean my whole teams board with one wrong click...it is entirely too easy to do so much damage without a way to undo it.
I thought I was creating a new tab with a new board and somehow it overwrote the existing board...and therefore, no more data in the blink of an eye. my heart sank. all the buckets and tasks permanently deleted, created mass confusion in the office (I wont even touch on the embarrassment this has caused me) and now I will spend the next several hours fixing that mistake instead of using what I, and so many others, believe to be a vital functionality that should come stock with this type of program.
If trello and countless other programs can do it, so can Microsoft. -

I thought i was copying a board to make use of some the existing tasks. However it didn't copy but created another tab of the same board (why would anyone want to do that?).

Hi we also lost out tasks in teams. So we are interested in a good solution.

We have only allowed users to have To Do since this product cannot recover deleted buckets and tasks.

These really needs fixing as without it is un-usable in any real business context. Just deleted a whole task board in error as I was attempting to copy structure (but not content) across multiple channels - much the same as the user below.. very frustrating that this cannot be recovered.

Either put in a recover option, or take out the delete option. This is a terrible software oversight.

It's not always a stupid thing but sometimes a difference in understanding. In my case I deleted the whole plan, because initially it was only visible in one channel. I couldn't see how to see the same plan across all channels, so just had it in one. This worked although a little clumsily. So I would request two things:
1. In the settings of the plan, you should be able to select which channels it should be visible to, and
2. If when creating a new plan in a different channel the option for it to be a copy of an existing plan or simply a view of the original plan.In my case, I thought I had created a copy because I wanted the bucket structure, but not the tasks, and couldn't see how to easily delete all the tasks, I simply deleted the plan to start a new one copying the old structure over manually, but to my horror it was all gone - that came as a shock and there would be no way to test it. Or there should be a warning I was removing the plan from all channels not just the one I was viewing. This is poor user interface design.

Absolutely necessary. Setting should also be possible for the administrator.

It's unbelievable that you can't recover stains that have been removed. We also need a deletion history with the dates and users who made the deletion.

We absolutely need to be able to recover deleted tasks or buckets. Its really not a great usability factor if you accidentally delete something (or someone else does) and there is no way back and no traceability for what occurred. We are trying to move from Jira into full Teams usage and this is a huge drawback.

This needs to go into the Planner forum:
