High Memory/RAM Usage
Microsoft Teams is currently the most RAM consuming application on my computer
Thank you for your recent votes on the individual performance items. High memory and RAM usage is something we are continuously working to improve, and the team is hard at work on fixes.
If interested, you can find more details on how Teams currently uses Memory at https://docs.microsoft.com/microsoftteams/teams-memory-usage-perf.
It takes more memory and cpu than outlook or chrome.
The Microsoft Teams application and Outlook uses uses most of my i5 CPU resource and a huge portion of the 8GB of ram on my laptop. This didn't happen before some update.

We shouldn't have to vote on this as a feature. It is a bug, and fundamentally shows the software is not working.
Unless Microsoft fix this issue, they can forget about Teams replacing Skype for Business!
After a weekend of inactivity I came to work with teams sitting at around 11.5GB of memory

MS Teams takes nearly as much memory as Visual studio running in debug mode 305K vs. 330K
Many enterprise customers have a standard desktop image of 8GB of RAM. When Teams is installed and in use, it consumes 1.8 GB of RAM. That is RAM that is unavailable because Windows 10 and Office 2016 consume about 7GB, therefore Teams causes the whole system to page to disk, resulting in sluggish performance for the whole computer. It takes me 45 seconds to open a web page or Word document. I have to completely quit Teams to make my computer usable.
It consume lot of CPU and RAM usage, half of the time it get stucks and doesnot work even logging out and logging in back. Had to restart my laptop when it happens.

1850MB of ram usage, 2% constant cpu with as a background app with no user activity, sort it out!

dear admin, add this to the other performance one
My top three consumers are VS 2017, SQL Server 2016, and Teams.
Outlook, OneNote, and Skype for Business are lower. And Teams basically tries to provide some of those features.
This is a poorly designed app (from a memory management perspective).

Very Pathetic tool so far with respect to using system resources and performance. You open the desktop application of web application, the result is almost similar in both cases.
1. Chrome Browser
At least 300 MB more memory used by Chrome for this web application. And CPU usage goes up to 100% for 4-5 minutes from less than 10% CPU usage before opening this application.
2. Desktop Application
Similar memory usage I have seen when used the desktop application. Performance is very poor.
This is a good tool I know, but not with the baggage of bad performance and heavy memory usage.

on windows 10 64 bit 16 GB Ram its using lot of memory and slowing the entire machine
I have 80+ users of teams and have had too many complaints about the high memory usage. Many users are reverting back to Skype as this does not have the same issue.
Currently I have 5 team processes consuming a total of 416 MB. This is a big issue for a company wide roll out.
Agreed. In an RDS environment, it consumes way too much RAM and doesn't scale at all. I can only allow 2 or 3 users to run it or it will quickly impact system performance.
I also experience this problem. This application is running too hard.
Agreed, this is a symptom of sloppy programming, which is also evident in the sluggishness and long bootup time of the application.
