High Memory/RAM Usage
Microsoft Teams is currently the most RAM consuming application on my computer
Thank you for your recent votes on the individual performance items. High memory and RAM usage is something we are continuously working to improve, and the team is hard at work on fixes.
If interested, you can find more details on how Teams currently uses Memory at https://docs.microsoft.com/microsoftteams/teams-memory-usage-perf.

resource usage is AWFUL

Currently using ~1GB of memory. The only other process using more memory is Edge at ~1.4GB with 9 windows and ~30-40 tabs open.
Not using Teams active at this moment, 744MB in use 9 processes
After a reboot a few minutes ago Teams is using 564MB in 9 processes.

In my computer Teams are using 1,2GB in 9 processes.
Due to high memory usage system performs slow which is not at all acceptable
1GB for a chat app is unacceptable.
640K ought to be enough for anybody.

you've got to sort this - it kills an I5 8GB RAM with an SSD hard drive. Zoom is nowhere near as memory intensive on a video call.
with teams open it means i can hardly work at times as just takes so much ram, whilst doing literally nothing. If you have to work on a VPN as well then totally forgot about teams as it will just stop you dead in your tracks

Teams is an extremely resource intensive application, and I can't really see why, other than for inefficient coding of course.

MS Teams actually consuming x6 upper than Webex Teams, and x10 upper than Jabber on my thinkpad T490
MS Teams = 544.8Mb(11.6%CPU)
WebEx Teams = 84.1MB(1.6%CPU)
Cisco Jabber= 59.9MB(0.2%CPU)
and if i start a Visio meeting, MS Teams goes more than 1Go (21.6%CPU), Jabber only 117MB (1.6%CPU)and WebEx Teams 161,7 MB (4.2%CPU)
Teams are using up to 1.1 GB of Memory by just switching between apps inside Teams

System are lagging some times when using Teams presenting another system like Power BI, Sharepoint and it really lags bad. When using without Teams, perfect.First I thought this was related to VPN, by have traced the trafic.
We upgraded to O365 last March but we use the Zoom app for instant messaging because it is a much lighter application. We also mostly use it for meetings too. We use the other Office applications such as Outlook, Excel, Word, Sharepoint, Forms, Lists etc. but we don't use Teams purely because of the memory usage. I thought Teams was meant to be the centre of the new Office environment? Even a Lite version just for chats would be great.
We bought new ThinkPad L590 8GB laptops in June and Teams takes up nearly 650MB right out of the gate when starting up, without doing anything on it.

Dear Microsoft, JUST DELETE TEAMS
It's using more than half of my ram meanwhile it doesn't even have feature to delete chat messages.

I'm seeing upwards of 2gm of ram being used. However i've found when disabling read notifications it drops considerably.

For work reasons, I'm running Teams on Fedora 33 . . . and wish there were other options. The working memory size is currently 1.7gb - no video, no active chats . . . just sitting in the taskbar, waiting for contact. For a chat client, this is simply embarrassing. Please fix the core of the program and quit tacking on additional features.
Teams slows performance of pc, especially when other apps requiring lots of memory are running such as Power BI and Tableau.
The mem consumption of this chat app is X times of Outlook. Make no sense!
A chat app easily takes 1GB+ memory. Unacceptable for me.
