Stop emoji animation after one cycle
Provide an option to stop emojis from continually animating once the first 'cycle' has completed. They are childish and distracting.

yes, i don't like the animation at all. no need for it.

When someone uses this, it requires me to close the chat window so I can continue to focus on the meeting.

They're very distracting and make it hard to concentrate on other work within the Teams app. Bad UI design.
Microsoft: since public sector tends to implement changes before GCC, when you update the status of this uservoice please update the GCC one as well:

Yes, please make these animations go away, either optionally or globally. I dearly recommend the latter.
Skype does this better. Teams emojis are SO distracting. Makes me not use them at all.
Drives me insane! - Please, please, please allow us to switch them off
If teams is intended to be a "business" software, how can Microsoft allow these animations in Teams while OneDrive for "business" doesn't have albums? It doesn't make sense!
Albums, imho, is a by far more useful function for companies than these emoticons ever can be!
Animating one cycle is fine. Animating forever is just silly, and extremely irritating. It's very simple imho: please add an option for turning emoji animation off completely, and another option for stopping the animation after one (or possibly a few) cycles.
Ideally, there should be an option to turn off the emoji animation completely

I strongly agree. It must be possible to turn them off.
The GIFs stop after a few cycles. It would be great if the emojis would too.
[addendum: As Udo mentioned, this is an accessibility violation, and therefore a matter of serious concern for government users:

Please, MS, respond to this uservoice that you are aware of the issue and looking for solutions. ]
Never mind one cycle. NO animation. No cycles. Yes, well put: "childish and distracting."
We are in islands mode as we transition, so I did a comparison.
I tested the same animated emojis (thumbs up, angry) in their own comments, not as a reactions.
1. Teams: it continues indefinitely
2. Skype for Business: it ends after a few cycles (5 or 6),
If it cannot be limited to one cycle, getting it down to SfB levels would be helpful.
Also this violates core accessibility rules
Agree. The movement is a distraction. For a 2019 work-based product, I don't understand why Microsoft has yet to correct this issue.
I can make allowances for gifs, but not the continuous motion. It reduces concentration as anyone who understands metacognition can attest.
I use Teams much less than I should because my colleagues who cannot stop peppering the chats with these annoying emoji.
still hate them. i'm guessing there's no option still
Does anyone listen?

Emoji are great; animated emoji make me want do close the app and walk away. No thank you, especially not without a way to select non-animated emoji choices.

Note: Google Chrome 74 now includes a "no animation" option. https://venturebeat.com/2019/04/23/google-chrome-74/
If browser companies recognise the distracting and annoying nature of animations, surely an office productivity tool should too.
