Ability to set personal default in Planner for 'group by' to view tasks
I'd like to be able to have myself and my team set their personal viewing preference of tasks in Planner to "Group by" (e.g. Due Date) and have it default to this view every time you go in.
I found this forum post while trying to find out how to set Assigned to as my default view. I've made an account specifically to add to this request.
We use the task view as a schedule for our team and having to manually choose Group By > "Assigned to" every time I open the Planner / To Do tab motivated me to come post here and add my vote to this request.
Absolutely need this! Work is making use transfer over to teams but we are not liking the inability to set views how we like it. Even if it just remembered the last view you were in would be so much user friendly.
I stopped using Teams app for following Planner tasks.
As a workaround I started to use it in browser. There is a Chrome extension ("Microsoft Planner Default 18.104.22.168") to save default group by. Although I had to modify it a bit to handle my language version, but it works rignt now. Now I'm working on modifying this extension to handle the assignment filter as well.
But I'm a f...g economist not a sw developer and it took me 1 day by now to get halfway to the solution...
What MS is (NOT) doing in this case is ridiculous....

Come on please add this ASAP - the lack of a user preference for default view in Planner is putting people off of using this app. Add a user specific preference for layout - including the main 'list/chart/board/schedule' view plus 'group by' and 'filter'
For example, I would select 'Board', 'Group By Progress' and 'Filter by This Week'.
So that when I leave Planner for another Teams tab, when I return my default view as above is displayed.
As MS-Teams is going to become the reference tool in Allianz Germany/Europe, we'd be very happy getting that function (group-by default alterable). Is there any viable perspective?
Yes add this Microsoft. What are you playing at?! 3 years to add a basic function like this! Do you even read these feedback forums?
Please add this feature, really necessary for teams that are needing to use other views regularly.
Could it at least keep the last set-up?
Given it's been 3 years since flagged – and not just in this thread – and a pretty basic function request, this has pretty much tipped me out of Teams and into Notion for project management. Microsoft talk a big game, but fall down on their flexibility and responsiveness to oversights like this. The cumulative friction of all these unresolved little issues demonstrates their immaturity and lack of commitment to usability. I'm sure the functions are there; they're just not accessible. Engineer rich; designer poor.
It is quite frustrating to re-create the filter I need every time. Why not add a possibility to pin an individual filter setting? Thanks for handling this.

yes please add. If someone messages me while working on the planner from inside the team channel, I go to the message to respond. Then, when I go back to the channel with the planner, the group by is back to the default "group by bucket" and I have to again "group by Assigned to". It would be great if I could keep the group by at "Assigned to".
Please provide the option to set default "group by" by admin and then over-ridden by the user where required. Thanks!

Please make filters and groups sticky. Ideally, this would be per user, however a good first step would be to make the default bucket scheme configurable by the board admin.
I see you doing stuff with Tasks now... PLEASE ADD THIS BASIC QOL IMPROVEMENT. That is all. Thank you!
Why is this still not addressed yet? Probably the biggest drawback of the tool

Come on... this feature was requested 2 years ago and it's essential to using planner properly in teams...
please do this! we are having to migrate to a different system because this feature is sub par
