Set up a channel to work like a "virtual room"
Set up a channel to work like a "virtual room" so that for example chat is not accessible for people outside, and you can easily turn on/off sound, mic, screen sharing and video. It is also important that you can see who is in the rooms (channels). Much like the Sococo solution does (https://www.sococo.com/) that we use today for this.
This way can we combine our virtual office environment with the team and project collaboration.

It would be great if TEAMs could provide a virtual office environment for us to interact remotely with colleagues from our organization that are online. For instance, we could have virtual 3d rooms (or something like that) of the organization we work at and some avatars (we could custom) representing us; we could visit each other, knock on virtual doors, put our avatars to meet, and have virtual coffee, like in a real virtual world. It would make teleworking much more fun and somewhat more human. TEAMs would rock!

The ability to join with video to a channel/chat would be sufficient. And being able to see who has already joined. Just like you can do with a meeting.
Currently if I want to start my video in a channel/chat, Teams annoyingly rings everybody. Members should be free to drop in and join the video if they want without being disturbed.

Please please please Microsoft, we need this!!! Sococo is going downhill, and there's no real alternative to it right now.

This would be great for virtual meet ups for students and faculty

Agree - I've been looking for an app on teams to mimic what sococo offers. We need to be able to facilitate the spontaneous hallway collaboration and a visual way to find and quickly connect with colleagues (other than IM/Chat) would be very helpful!

That would really be great. Doesn't need to look exactly like Sococo. But showing who's in the office and what they do. Also, would be great if there was a common room that by default all members of the team jump to when they're not in other meetings or in a DND mode.

Please Microsot, make Sococo an offer they can't refuse. We need this ASAP!

please get this out ASAP. I have resorted to setting up a meeting that is 24/7 and inviting all the people that may need to come to talk to me. so they can hop in and out as needed. but it keeps my calendar as busy all day. and I can't seem to change that.

I've love to see this feature. It can bring together teams in one place and see who is online and who is in a meeting

I'd really like to see this, especially now with the virus.

dont forget to put the "knocking on the door". Like that feature when letting someone know I need to talk to in any virtual room/space.
