Allow meeting participants to mute each other or mute all: Ep IV The Request Strikes Back
This has been partially fixed in that the meeting originator can mute a participant (https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/17990638-allow-meeting-participants-to-mute-each-other-or-m), but this doesn't go far enought for many people.
We need all users to be able to individually mute other users. Our situation is that we regularly hold meetings through Team where some participants sit in the same room. These people can hear each other IRL and then slightly delayed through Team. I need to be able to mute my nearest colleagues (for just me) to avoid this.
At present we need to move away from each other in order to have a meeting, which means that we can't crowd round a screen or share a set of paper notes.
I also do not understand why this feature is not available. Now Microsoft buys Discord. They have this feature for so long. So come on, you are a mega company, Microsoft, you will solve this Challenge!
Can these 3 concerns be summarized please?
They all deal with the same problem.
As mentioned by PeterG, this is a duplicate of https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/34604422-allow-us-to-mute-individuals-but-just-from-our-poi, which has more votes, so I've voted for both!
This is a feature that has been available in Skype for Business for years... really annoying that this isn't available from day one in Teams.

We have exactly the same problem in our team. Every time we have a meeting from our work desks, we always hear the echos of the others which is really distracting.
This is very useful because the IRL and teams feed echos causing all of us to book individual meeting rooms for each person. Using a Bluetooth speaker is not an option in our case.
