Ability to print a conversation thread
Our HR unit is using Channels with threads that is to be printed for handout purposes (procedures) They are suggesting the ability to print a thread would be very helpful as oppose to having to screenshot the whole page.

As far as i understand it, nothing is ever deleted from the cloud anymore, so why is there a retention policy?
I think in many cases, the print function is used as a clunky backup.
Anyway, i think an explicit way to save Teams chats is essential in this information age. Copy and paste or saving screenshots is like going back to the stone-age.
It really feels like being harassed intentionally. -

As everyone else is saying on this post we as manager of a chat group need to archive or have handy a whole preriod of conversation, this caries a lot of value and its contend is far beyond casual chatting.
If Micosoft would take it's customers more serious it would have provided this since a long time (first week after working from home period started)
I can accept that this would only work on the desktop version not mobile
some people suggest to export to a *.PST file and go from there..
you have all those plugins on the mobile but non of them is as critical in our case.
Time to get moving MS.. Bill Gates is doing a great job outside of MS, maybe he needs to have a look what's happening within his "old" company! Thanks

I am sorry, but I am not as polite as some. I cannot believe that the lack of such as basic facility is anything but incompetence, and the failure to add this feature shows the contempt that Microsoft has for its users. We all need to start telling our IT departments to stop rolling out this junk.

copy/paste would be really helpful.

Why not allow a user to copy thread and paste it where they want to use it... that would be much more useful than printing...

This is really a simple functionality that stands to add a lot of value in various scenarios/applications. Would be a very nice addition to the platform.

This is such a major oversight! People need to archive conversations and should not be forced to use primitive methods to do so. This would not be a hard problem to solve. This is more important than EVERY other feature because literally everyone needs to do it. The popular question sends people to this link https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/18719188-add-the-ability-to-quick-print-a-file-without which is NOT the same topic.

My agency uses chat conversations in training meetings to provide additional information to our employees. We have many requests for a pdf version of the thread so employees can more easily search and find information, review away from Teams, and share with others who didn't attend the meeting. We tried using the snip it tool, but the threads are too long to make this a useful way of capturing chat content.

I’m amazed that something as elementary as printing a comment or a thread is not available! Please correct this.

Ability to print a chat log asap please - very handy for attendance details when doing webinars with guests - can't see their email addresses.

I am absolutely shocked that over two years after the this topic was brought up, we still cannot save and print conversations and chats. I tend to love Microsoft tools unlike many in my office, but this seems like such an obvious thing that would be needed by many organizations. I've been working really hard to get Teams and the other tools standardized across the company. The lack of this one feature may very well be the deciding factor in me not getting complete buy in from my boss.

this is a vital feature for HR!
skype automatically sent chats to outlook -- why can't teams chat do the same or offer the feature to do the entire chat during a meeting ? -

Now that we're working from home, I agree that it would be extremely helpful to be able to download the chat threat in Teams as a PDF that can be printed or easily emailed. I use Teams Chat to support students in our new distance learning platform, and I need a method to document our conversations.

Need this ability as soon as possible. With remote working, the ability to print the chats within a chatroom take the place of a 'minutes of meeting'.
Urgently needed for Teams.

I use microsoft teams to document testing and other compliance related items. We use the recording feature as well in conjunction with the chats. At present, we snippet, but it is not the best way to capture the screenshots and chat's that confirm or verify the process. Adding the print feature would be a value add to the large corporations which must document their processes for compliance and future business use.

Having the ability to download certain threads as well as posts in Team would be extremely helpful and very important for yearly audits. As we use these posts to vadiate information and provide approvals.
