Move Channel Activity from the Conversations Tab
Move the activity updates (i.e. team members being added or removed/leaving, channel creation or renaming, etc.) that are present in the Conversations tab in every channel into a tab in the team's information section (next to Members, Channels, Settings, Apps), with activity filterable by channel. This way the activity doesn't clog the conversation feed as it is doing now.
Agreed. It would be nice if these two were separated somehow so as to not clutter the Conversations tab, however, I don't think Activity warrants its own tab. Maybe it lives under the Channel settings (...) or maybe Channel Activity is just updated to be non-persistent and disappears from the chat within a certain amount of time.
Solution 1: Separate it to "Activities"
Solution 2: It it's not seperatable, group all those join / leave messages on top of every minute into a collapsable entry with the newest date. Of course the specifics would have to be specified. I did not find an entry to this yet - maybe I create one later.
Agree 100%. Having team and channel history (add/remove user, add/remove connector, structure changes, etc.) separated from "real" data/info in to a non-default channel would be fantastic. In addition to being able to filter the activities, providing a method to enable/disable these notifications would also be nice (especially when designing/revamping a team). As it is, with a new team or personnel rotation on existing team (think training or education scenario), the management notices can overwhelm a channel and present a really poor user experience.
It is great to be able to see all Activity for a channel. However, it does get cluttered pretty easily. Having the ability to filter would be super helpful. It would be great to see only new/removed members, conversations, @mentions, changes/activity for files, actions, etc.
