Create @distribution sub-groups
would be awesome if you could create your own @distribution group. There are times when you want to send updates to a subgroup in the tea

Agree. We just removed several inactive or less active team members so we could use the Team for distribution of commas. However, former a team members are needing to become members again. So they will now get commas they don’t need to see. We need to be able to set up sub groups so we can communicate to the entire team or specific sub groups based on the need at the time.

We use a Teams channel to communicate about code review needs and it would be very helpful if we could tag @srdevs vs @jrdevs vs @mgrs instead of having to tag individuals or the whole group.

Please add this, both for messaging and calls. As a teacher using teams, it's very limiting for sessions.

Yes, to enable users to create sub-group within a Channel in MS Team.

I'm sick of @ tagging the same individuals every time I post - @ tagging a channel is too broad and at the same time too "Silod" for a lot of posts.

Please add this feature. I'm bored reading topics miles away from my responsibilities even when they are from my own team.

sub-channels or sub-groups would be an awesome expansion of MS/Teams.
I am currently seeing "proliferation" of "MS/Teams" areas in my org, and then the increased use of "channels" within the teams. However, in our org, even the channel scope level is too broad, we would like to have a further level of refinement while maintaining a hierarchy so people can still readily find content.
I know the options of "folders" exists in a channel … However that does not allow the @blah communication.
I guess then this could be facilitated by "sub-channels" or the ability to create public "groups" for communication that could be @blah used.

I also need this sub group thing! We have 15 participants in a channel that consits of 3 groups (5 members in each). We would like to make calendar reservations for members of each group easily. If there were subgroups 1, 2 and 3, e.g. the reservation would just be made to group 1 and you would not have to pick each participant separately.

Especially in the "General" channel: I want to post messages there that are optional (but interesting) for most, but want to tag people from a (sub)team to specifically "force" them to read it.
