I really like the location feature in 2016 Business Skype. It know when I move between my two facilities at work and it also remembers my home location. This should be a feature in Microsoft Teams.

The location service on Skype is a huge help. There are lots of times that working from home we need someone at the office for something. it is nice to be able to look and see who is there and reach out to them. I would very much LOVE to see this service available on TEAMS!
Any news regarding the 2019 review ?

the location feature from Skype is definitively a must-have feature as hybrid working becomes the new norm.

With MS Teams having replaced Skype in my company, the location feature from Skype is definitively a must have feature as hybrid working becomes the new norm.
Due to the increasing number of hybrid work approaches, it is becoming more and more important to indicate whether you are in the office or home office. The mentioned feature as well as the following features would help.

This would definitely help our organization as we are progressively coming back to the office but with more people working at home in comparison with the pre-covid period.

This is becoming more of a problem for our org as we move to a hybrid working model. Location needs to be separated from Status, and ideally updated automatically based on network and other factors (peripherals, GPS location, etc.). This is one of the few features I actually miss having moved from Cisco Jabber to Teams in the last few months.
Yes this feature would solve some major challenges with hybrid/flex work that is being introduced in many companies. It would be ideal if on the administration side we could setup IP's to identify known locations and have them automatically populate. That way when people want to collaborate in person they could easily see if someone is in the office or not.
This is desperately needed. The set status message is good as a workaround but it's no good for the long term. Give us a text field that you can put in your location.
This feature would be very helpful as some folks move to hybrid work arrangements.

We would like to build out locations based on IP. So we can set our various office locations up, then anything outside of that would display "Working from Home" or "WFH"

This would be especially helpful for those who work from multiple office locations.
Specify a network, or for those with multi-location single-named networks, or specify a Geolocation Radius and the associated Location Name.
Ex: If I'm within a radius of 4 Blocks of a dropped pin, show location as North Office Building.
If I'm within a radius of 10 Blocks of a second dropped pin, show location as Corporate Complex.
You get the idea.....Why this isn't a feature and "together mode" IS a feature is mind-boggling....
One is cute, the other goes to productivity. Less cute, more function please.

Just found my way here. This will be an essential feature as we emerge from "COVID WFH" with more flexibility on where we work daily.
I really like this, I know it is under review, why has it been 3.5 years on this chat?
Please implement this. It is very important for new hybrid work models. We must be able to see who is in office or at home.
As long as it is not implemented, please consider adding custom status message API as a workaround:
Then we could write software to automatically update the status message, based on location.

Looking for this functionality to support a hybrid work model as we gradually return to the office.

After the pandemic, this is table stakes! We have staff working from home and at various office locations. Please make this a priority.
As people are starting to go back to partial in office schedules, this feature is becoming important again. Cisco Jabber offers this and allows you to rename each location. Please push this back up on the development priority list.

Since my company and many others now work with many more employees at off site locations, having a location status set by remembered connections (like Skype for Business) would be great. I am usually working from home now, but occasionally I will be onsite, and where onsite is an additional benefit.
