Please extend the Teams Mobile App to work with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
I'm often on the road and my company relies heavily on online meetings :-) So, we are starting to leverage Teams meetings more and more, so when I'm in my car I need an easy way to join meetings and maybe also read messages. While this is way easier now, than it was in SfB Mobile (thanks!) it would be awesome to have an Android Auto / Apple CarPlay Extension to have a somewhat easier and "nearly hands-free" user experience. This would make me much more productive, even if I'm traveling :-)
The feature team has this on their backlog officially now. We don’t have any timing to share at this point, but we will keep you posted.
Alex & the Teams team
I got a message from a general teams manager this is his update
circlign back on this, TAP for both CarPlay and Android Auto will start in Feb, hopefully GA around end of this quarter. However both will be limited in scenarios based on the capabilities of the platforms. so for example on CarPlay initial support will be limited to calling (ie. "Siri, call 'NAME' on Teams"), not meetings or calendaring
I have send some messages on linkedin to several MS managers about this issue, no respons.
I also found (Alex)andra Olsen the admin on linkedin , but i don't have a premium account to message her.. maybe someone else can? here info stated on linkedin says
''Super passionate about customers, and ensuring a super high quality, productive & enjoyable experience with our products, services, and content.''
not for android auto and Apple users i think ;)
I have the same issue, The teams app crashes and reboots the Carplay system in my car which affects both my call and the maps on carplay.
I have new car with wireless android auto so I'm unable to connect audio by bluetooth and that's the reason why I can't call on teams! This is realy critical issue, so I need teams android auto support as soon as possible.

This was happening on my iPhone 7. I just upgraded to iPhone Xr with iOS 14.3 and it still happens. You've had this on the backlog since 2019. It's pretty pathetic that it hasn't been fixed yet.
Hello, I use teams all day long for communications. After Team mobile app update several month back, my Carplay will CRASH every time I have a call from teams.
The car multimedia will reboot until I unplug the USB.
I am asking Microsoft to urgently fix this issue
Another thing I noticed a while back, when you were connected to android auto and used the dial in option, it would not send the keys over unless you disconnect from android auto
Android Auto killed Teams over Bluetooth. Please help us getting Teams in AA

Android Auto in such difficult time when you have to work everywhere except Office would be great solution. CarPlay announced, so when AA will be available?
Need android auto support asap!
Still no android auto?

CarPlay support was just announced today: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/blog/2020/12/01/restore-and-maintain-personal-connections-with-new-microsoft-teams-calling-features/

Would be great see an update on this.
It seems there was an update over the last week or so that display chats in android auto the same way as SMS and Whatsapp does. No calls or teams meeting though.
It is better than nothing, but still far from ideal. We need calls and meetings to come through android auto. At the moment to answer a teams call while driving, I need to unlock my phone and answer it, the audio will work on my car but it has zero android auto relevance, it is simple bluetooth audio, the same way as you can make a phone call via whatsapp, as perhaps crash your car and die as a result of unlocking a phone and answering it on the screen.
We're not enjoying the silence... @Alex &.Teams Team...
is it so hard to give an update after more than 1,5 years?

Zoom and goto meeting already have this.

Hi Alex & Teams staff! Any news about this feature?
Sasha Dolgy commented
I would love this - at the moment connecting to a meeting while driving isn't ideal. I have to pull over and wait until the exact moment to join the meeting --- If I join to early the meeting starts. I can't join from the car display panel ...

When will this finally be realized?
18 months after the last comment from microsoft teams. I'm baffled that it takes so long to implement this function.
