Please extend the Teams Mobile App to work with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
I'm often on the road and my company relies heavily on online meetings :-) So, we are starting to leverage Teams meetings more and more, so when I'm in my car I need an easy way to join meetings and maybe also read messages. While this is way easier now, than it was in SfB Mobile (thanks!) it would be awesome to have an Android Auto / Apple CarPlay Extension to have a somewhat easier and "nearly hands-free" user experience. This would make me much more productive, even if I'm traveling :-)
The feature team has this on their backlog officially now. We don’t have any timing to share at this point, but we will keep you posted.
Alex & the Teams team
Alex, any update? It has been over a year since you advised that it is officially in the development backlog. All meetings are online now, and it would be nice to be able to safely use Teams while driving (through Android Auto).

Any updates on this? Really need this functionality.
The ability to mute/unmute easily would be the most important thing for me
Having just lost the Skype calling from the MS Exchange App in my BMW (along with the email facility) please can you sort Apple CarPlay connectivity to Teams ASAP, especially as we are all having to use it now.

Yes it will be very beneficial while driving

This is critical as teams rolls out, being able to call in through the teams app while driving is important
Would be helpful to have separate teams app on Carplay
Teams is a very useful tool in the office, but not in the car. Sales people spend most of their time in the car to travel to customers. When we used Webex it worked great because there is an app available that supports carplay. We really looking forward to getting a MS Teams solution that is compatible with carplay. Thanks, Patrick

Hi there! I have a similar idea posted for CarPlay and Android Auto under the following URL:
It currently has 1507 votes and is already officially on the backlog, so if you'd like, please add your votes :-) Thank you!
Please continue to work on the join a Teams Call feature. I have a great hands free system in my car. I heard the Teams phone ring but could not figure out how to answer it. It rang thru the car's hand free system and because Teams has a different ring when ringing thru my phone, I knew it was Teams. Just need that answer or join piece. Thanks!

This feature is a MUST HAVE, like private channels on Teams, and it's officially in the backlock, also like private channels. It's also not that hard to implement, as private channels on Teams again.
It all means it will NEVER be implemented! Sorry folks. User Voice is useless, not only for Teams, but for all MS products (Windows, TFS/DevOps, etc). The only one that is kinda still working is the new Edge's one.
its illegal to use a mobile when driving and its known bluetooth headsets are almost as distracting
adding a fully fledged app - can't wait to see the accident justification
bad idea to integrate

Looking forward to this support
Not only a safe feature to have but useful to say the least.
This would be a really great feature. Please provide a status update. Thanks!

Will be nice that Microsoft Teams is integrated with Apple CarPlay so controls like mute/unmute can be done on the car controls.
Now when I have a call/meeting inside Microsoft Teams while Driving, the Phone is kept on and I need to control the call from the Phone.
On the car screen I see it as a phone call.
The R&D into the Teams platform is more than ever critical to Enterprise and Education.
Tech leaders are fighting a battle against Zoom who already has this feature available.
It surely doesnt take a company like Microsoft 12 month to develop this feature?
Im guessing that this is about royalty payments....

STILL waiting.... not even an update? I don’t understand how this is not THE top priority for Teams. You are putting people at risk of getting into car accidents. My company has switched to the MS Teams phone system. I’m getting calls on the road all the time now. I have an android phone and the calls do not even register on the hands free system in my car. I have to fumble for my phone to try to answer on speaker to join calls. This is insane and unacceptable on Microsoft’s part. When will this be fixed?

Almost got into a car accident yesterday trying to join a meeting in my car. Please work on this. Many Teams users will greatly appreciate this.
