Please extend the Teams Mobile App to work with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
I'm often on the road and my company relies heavily on online meetings :-) So, we are starting to leverage Teams meetings more and more, so when I'm in my car I need an easy way to join meetings and maybe also read messages. While this is way easier now, than it was in SfB Mobile (thanks!) it would be awesome to have an Android Auto / Apple CarPlay Extension to have a somewhat easier and "nearly hands-free" user experience. This would make me much more productive, even if I'm traveling :-)
The feature team has this on their backlog officially now. We don’t have any timing to share at this point, but we will keep you posted.
Alex & the Teams team
Any update on this topic?
I use google meet and regular calls perfectly on AA. Only teams requires me to unplug the USB to use car speakers. For day to day trip between home & office this is not manageable.
I think this is a must have if you want to extend the teams user group to to use it as primary communication tool for incompany use or with call plans for complete phone integration. There is however the security aspect I am aware of. Currently we use conditional access policies to enforce pincode or finger print to open the Teams app. However adoption is key to enforce security. In my opinion the bare minimum to be delivered is the ability to take an incoming call on the iPhone with Carplay.
Is anyone monitoring this channel anymore? Is there any roadmap update for Teams integration to Carplay?
Yes definitely needed for android auto - need basic commands to join meeting / mute / unmute etc. Having to use phone handset for these functions is not safe whilst driving.
The "Under Review" message is from April 2019. Alex, could you please provide a 2021 update? We are all very much looking forward to Teams integration into CarPlay!
@Alex, @Warren, it's time to get this request out of the backlog and into active development! People have been waiting quite some time now and this should be a really basic function. Other app developers can do it, why can't you?
Choosing to postpone this, is consciously choosing for unsafe behavior on the road.
PLEASE GIVE US A NEW STATUS UPDATE, THE LAST ONE DATES FROM APRIL 2019!!
Any news on this topic? This is definitely a feature that should be supported.

CarPlay has been added.
But no notice of Android Auto.
When will this enter development?
Our engineers can't answer their calls in their car without taking the phone out of the holder and putting it back in. That is not only dangerous, but simply not possible at times.

Ability to hit icon in CarPlay to see upcoming meetings and join them would be huge.

Still no progress. This is hardly required.

A feature that is needed urgently.
What happened to this? Microsoft announced that CarPlay was coming in December ’20, but total silence after that.

Is there any update on this? The last comment on this being in the backlog was back in April 2019. Is there a way we can get this into sprint planning? I have a two hour commute into the office and joining meetings isn’t easy with the current set up.

Fortunately I'm not alone wishing that Teams need to be added to Apple Carplay.

It is really important to fix this issue. Carplay keeps crashing snd reboots car’s unit. It’s an endless crash loop. My car is a Nissan Qashqai 2019, with Nissan infotainment system

Please bump this up on the bug fix list! I use Teams for all of my company calls/meetings and rebooting my vehicles entire Infotainment system every time I have my phone plugged into the car and receive a work call is just crazy. I don't know what you changed in the late 2020 update, but please get it fixed.
The current version of Teams for iOS makes CarPlay crash.
Are there any news on this topic? As our team members are on the road often, handsfree joining a teams meeting via voice (in my case Siri) shortcut still requires the user to tap the "join" button. That's very outdated.

@Alex please make some efforts to make it happened. No single updates on 2y???

Our Service Engineers on Android phones are unable to answer their calls through Teams.
We are now forced to call their mobile phone number, which means others can't see their status while they're in a call, and will call straight through the phone call on the carkit.
Received multiple complaints about this.
Apple CarPlay has support now.
Still no estimation on google Android Auto?
