Spell check in multiple languages
It would be nice if it was possible to have the Teams desktop app in one languge and spell checking in multiple languge and at the same time customize date and time format.
E.g. I would like to have Teams in English, have spell checking in English and Danish, and have date and time format in "Danish".
Thank you for your feedback! We are happy to share that users who write different messages in different languages, will now see spellchecking relevant to the language they are actively using when typing a message while using the Microsoft Teams Desktop App on Windows.

Any updates on this request?! Very needed by us communicating in an international environment! Thank your!!
+1 On this being a very needed update. I work in a multilanguage team and need to communicate in more than one language everyday.
This is truly a missed opportunity as many international workers are moving to use this platform during the pandemic. I add my voice to others and urge Microsoft to quickly release this update.

It it truely disapinting that there is no multi language support and the issue has not been more highly prioritised for some months now.
I urge you: please have a look at how mattermost handels that topic:
A simple right mouse click, then 1 cm mouse move to select 'Spelling language', another few cm mouse move to select the desired language from a brief list of common languages.
It would be an ideal solution if that could be configured to go to one of two or three most often used languages directly after the right mouse click in the first action threreafter. Even better would be a solution were from recognizing certain typical words in the common languages like translations of articles or words like 'and', 'or' ,'then' or the common question words, teams could infer the language automatically.

I need to be abe to turn it off. I teach in both Dutch and English, and currently Dutch is just one big red mess. I also don't want to have to switch to options every time I move to another conversation.
No spell check is better than the disturbing red lines everywhere.

Hope for quick solution, I'm dyslectic no matter spelling in English or Swedish. I use both regularly during the day in chats and others.
PLEASE prioritize this. It's a must for so many companies to be able to work in multiple languages and weird that this is default is all other Microsoft products but not teams. Very disappointing.
I'm working in a Project with at least 3 languages, my native one, English for overall software, and French, the end users one. It's a shame a can only have one checked...
+1 for multiple languages using both english and french.

I am quite surprised and disappointed that this is not part of a major communication product. I mean do you expect the whole world to speak only English? That's a major flaw in the design. Sorry for being harsh but it's an absurd that a company like Microsoft that has done internationalisation for ever has an oversight on supporting multiple languages on the spell check for teams. You should set this issue to a higher priority because of the visibility of this embarrassing issue.

I would appreciate to have spell check in my language (czech) and English at the same time. WIthout need to switch keyboard and or otherwise switch languages.
I would like to see that as well :-)
+1 for multi-language auto detect like Outlook or Word.

Another call for multi-language spell check from me as well! Our company has rolled out Teams to foster global exchange between our offices but it is annoying that the "red snakes" make 50% of my posts almost illegible when composing them
I just thought I was missing something when I could only spellcheck in English and not in French. Would be great if Teams would recognize the language being typed... or perhaps a change of keyboard setting... Outlook works it out...
I am using 4 languages in parallel. I would like to be able to define the language for each individual chat.

Even this comment field I can do a RMB click and change the language. Working with teams that speak multiple languages it would make things much easier.
My organisation may have to drop this application because it does not yet support multi-language spell check! What are you waiting for?

This is paramount considering the amount of information we are putting into Teams these days.

It would be good if it could spellcheck in English correctly. It thinks I've, you've, should've etc. are misspellings. It's also crazy that you can't add words, like your own company and product names.
