Spell check in multiple languages
It would be nice if it was possible to have the Teams desktop app in one languge and spell checking in multiple languge and at the same time customize date and time format.
E.g. I would like to have Teams in English, have spell checking in English and Danish, and have date and time format in "Danish".
Multi-language spell check is on the backlog.

Portuguese, please. I'm using a Teams in English and need a Portuguese spell checking.

Every other major chat option deals with this somehow...
This might be a good time to start working on this...

Maybe this needs to move out of the backlog. Your COVID era commercial has a professor from Italy and a cop from the UK but multilingual spell check is on the backlog? So you offer a way for the world to meet online as long as they don't need robust spellchecking.

Plese add it as soon as posible. it will be a huge atvantage.
PS: Sorry for the misspellings... I am using MS Teams :)))

With such a feature, Teams would be simple perfect!!
Really hope that this is coming soon ...
Working in an international company - language is EN. But want to see the date and number format etc. in my locale not in US ...
But that the e. g. chat is not recognizing that I type in EN leads to the result "that there is no spell check" but nearly everything is underlined as miss-spelled ...
No clue why this is working for Word, to a certain extend PPTx, Skype - but not in teams ...

Please move it to the top of the list. really needed it. I keep copy pasting text from word in to teams :( with my dyslexia I really need the spelling checker...
Definitely needs to be fixed. It's horrible typing and reading this way!

This needs to be fixed! We have about 4,000 users who regularly ask about this. We run apps in English for the sake of easy support, but cover alt least 8 native languages.
Why not use the engine that already exists in other MS apps or in the browser technology?
At least let us turn spell checking off so the whole text stops being underlined in red whenever we're using any other language than english. It's especially annoying when your and your teams' native language is not english and you use your native language for your daily communication...
I communicate with teams in the US and Latin America. I need spell check in English, Spanish and Portuguese with Teams automatically detecting which language I am typing in like Word does.

Any updates on this request?! Very needed by us communicating in an international environment! Thank your!!
+1 On this being a very needed update. I work in a multilanguage team and need to communicate in more than one language everyday.
This is truly a missed opportunity as many international workers are moving to use this platform during the pandemic. I add my voice to others and urge Microsoft to quickly release this update.

It it truely disapinting that there is no multi language support and the issue has not been more highly prioritised for some months now.
I urge you: please have a look at how mattermost handels that topic:
A simple right mouse click, then 1 cm mouse move to select 'Spelling language', another few cm mouse move to select the desired language from a brief list of common languages.
It would be an ideal solution if that could be configured to go to one of two or three most often used languages directly after the right mouse click in the first action threreafter. Even better would be a solution were from recognizing certain typical words in the common languages like translations of articles or words like 'and', 'or' ,'then' or the common question words, teams could infer the language automatically.

I need to be abe to turn it off. I teach in both Dutch and English, and currently Dutch is just one big red mess. I also don't want to have to switch to options every time I move to another conversation.
No spell check is better than the disturbing red lines everywhere.

Hope for quick solution, I'm dyslectic no matter spelling in English or Swedish. I use both regularly during the day in chats and others.
PLEASE prioritize this. It's a must for so many companies to be able to work in multiple languages and weird that this is default is all other Microsoft products but not teams. Very disappointing.
I'm working in a Project with at least 3 languages, my native one, English for overall software, and French, the end users one. It's a shame a can only have one checked...
