Spell check in muliple languge
It would be nice if it was possible to have the Teams desktop app in one languge and spell checking in multiple languge and at the same time customize date and time format.
E.g. I would like to have Teams in English, have spell checking in English and Danish, and have date and time format in "Danish".
not even in English has spell checks.
If at least in English we had a spell and grammar checks would be great.

I can not understand why the teams editor can not use the same spell check with multiple lqnguages as any other office application. Espacially in international teams you post very often in Englisch and your mother language in parallel, changing language setting for the whole teams environment for each post is not feasible.
Please add this feature soon!
I need German and English.....at the same time :) Es ist wichtig! Perhaps you can at least select two languages at the same time. Then MS will automatically switch as you type to check the language that you are currently using.

I have a Swedish Teams install but I type a lot in English. I only get spell check in Swedish and a lot of annoying red underlining when I type in English. It is strange though that a lot of English words do not have red underlining....?
I message people in both English and Spanish. in jabber, I was able to select what language spell check would detect per chat. In teams, there is only a language option in the settings.
And I just want to be able to completely disable that spell check ****. It is ridiculous that MS just shoves all these un-features into their products like that, not allowing the users to fully customize anything.
A good point. So yes please! Thank you, Jens, for this one. It's a pain in the... to see everything underlined if you're writing in the other language.

It would be great if Teams could recognize in which language I'm writing and so to do the spelling checking based on that. Nowadays if I have teams in English but I want to talk with a colleague in Spanish the app recognize every word as a mistake and it's really annoying.
we have removed sametime because of this non-multi language support and thought Teams will work like Outlook. Ouch!

Any news on when this is implemented?
Multi-lingual spell-check is critical! Teams should adopt what Word or Powerpoint do.

Yes, please. It makes no sense to have the Teams client underline every word we write in Norwegian...

Yes having larger teams in different areas of the world and people using there own local language for local conversations this would be very good to have.
Yes, and you have to restart the application every time you change languages! Even MS Outlook provides better multi-language support.
It should work like many browsers: Add two or three languages/dictionaries (the ones you need) to the configuration. Then on context menu where you can choose alternative for misspelled words should also be option to switch language.

I see a bunch of comments/complaints about this language issue from 2017 - was it ever changed/resolved?
I also would like to have Teams in English & have the spell checker in our regional language (AU) as do all the other Microsoft apps. We use Teams for a lot of our communications and the red underline of correctly spelled words (IE Australian not US spelling) is very distracting

Yes please :-)
Also please add Afrikaans, Xhosa, Zulu and more African languages
Thank you :-D
Yes please, it is ESSENTIAL and BASIC!
This simple point became critical on the decision to go for Microsoft Teams or not..
Absence of multi language spellcheck is considered by our top management as simply 'unacceptable lack of quality in today's world'.
When is it going to be enabled??

And please use the same set of languages as in Outlook, also Dutch

As Microsoft is based in US, they think there is only one version of English; theirs. Need to support the languages actually installed on the computer, in my case English Australia which is based on English UK.
