Tables in messages
There is currently no way to add a table (I.e. a n * m grid) into a message, please can you add this ability.
To clarify, I’m not talking about pasting tables from elsewhere, I’m talking about creating a new table right within the message.
Markdown has support for creating tables but (a) Teams markdown support is shockingly bad and (b) Microsoft have publicly stated they won’t be improving it. Given you won’t be supporting all the features of markdown (incredibly bad decision by the way) at least give us another way to create tables.
There’s an argument to say there should be the means to enter other rich content types too (formatted code is an obvious one that springs to mind, equations are another) but at the very please give us the ability to add a table.
You are wrong, there has been a way for many years... If there is a college near you or vocational school with night classes, try to take a social media class. It's just a little older HTML or many other possible ways more current....Just have to choose which you would like to use. You would know this if you googled it first....rofl

Its was disappointing when I try to send selected table from excel file in the chat of MS teams , it losses all format and I need to format it again ,it just past as plain table ,hope Microsoft can find a solution
How the funk basic form of presenting data could not be supported? How?
Just to add yet another voice on needing a way to present table inside teams chat..
Any details regarding this table feature, It will be very helpful, to have the data displayed in the excel format. Lot of requirements for displaying data in table format. Mostly awaiting for this feature...Thanks

Is this being tracked on the product roadmap or should we stop wanting it. It would be good to have some way to understand the status of these requests. Something like Considering, Added to Roadmap, Closed not under consideration at this time...... We all have time constraints and don't want to spend time supporting ideas that will never get to market. Thanks

I really want Markdown tables (or an equivalent) as well.
Mattermost has this feature and I immediately miss having it when we were forcibly transitioned to teams.
I would appreciate Markdown tables as well, as this issue is a regular annoyance for me.
The workaround described by David Kominek works only for very small tables. The table I just tried to paste with 22 rows and 3 columns caused Teams to return an error about my message size being to large.

As a workaround, tables may be inserted by creating in Outlook or Excel, and then copy-paste into teams.
