We potentially have a business case for accessing Teams when offline, or more specifically on a very bad and intermittent internet connection. Our vessels communicate with multiple Operation Centres (LOCs) around the globe. The LOCs are already using Teams and we think Teams could work for communicating with the vessels as well. The problem is the vessel's internet connection: quite often they're offline, and when connected they may be on a satellite link which is slow with high latency.
One requirement is the ability to read and send messages while offline. From testing this is possible with Teams for a few minutes with a warning saying "Please reconnect so we can keep your conversations going". I'm still able to post and messages sit in a "sending..." state. However after a few minutes the below message appears on my client and I can't access anything until I'm reconnected and have restarted the client.
Should offline access work? Is there a way to suppress the below message so you can continue to work? I've only tested on desktop but the requirement is for this to work on Android. Thanks!
Definitely needs to work offline - what's the point of a desktop version if it's essentially the same (if not worse) than the online version.
