About tab for Teams and channels
A Team and channel could do with an About tab or something similar. It could display the Team or channel description, list the purpose for a channel and helpful guidance. The only place I see a Team description is when I go to add a new Team. I see existing Teams and a description if there is one. The Team and Channel About info could be a tab, or one line of description text below the Team/Channel name, clicking “More” to open an About page.
For now, the work around could be using a SharePoint page and adding it as a Tab to the channel.
It would be great to be able to create a page as the home page so people knew what the channel was all about. In our version, and I assume this is the same for all, people land on the General Conversation which is only so useful.
This tab should be the first tab. If not first automatically, then the Team owner should be allowed to change the order.
I would like to see this feature get implemented as well. Currently we have our teams as the main categories and then the channels are the effective projects. So e.g. our team is called Software Development and then we have a channel called Database Tool. I would like to have an about Tab where we could enter some information like who the project lead is (Office 365 integration) and the other projectmembers, the client for who the project is, the start and end date for the project.
