improve speed of scrolling up in chats
a ton of time is wasted waiting for chat text to appear then to find that its not what you were looking for
please preload more data or reduce the delay on loading the content like google hang outs does, its much smoother scrolling thru history
its difficult to navigate thru recent history when its all blocks

Still a problem; needs to be addressed by Microsoft.

There should be a button that takes you to your first message in a chat.

i would like the ms team chat portion to load onto my taskbar, instead of the entire Team app. all of my work is not in MS Teams, therefore i do not see if i have a message

Please improve speed of scrolling up, going at the top of the chat and search in chat. It only shows just a message when I search instead of related conversation. It's a terrible

Please improve this, it currently sucks.

Difficult to read the conversation from the beginning while keeping an eye on the rest of the workload in Teams. Lots of time lost to scroll up during a few minutes.

Slack and Discord both don't have this issue, but scrolling history is dreadfully slow in Teams to the point of if I need to go back and check something someone said at a previous time, I put off doing it cause I know I'll need several minutes just to wait for page loads. Likewise, after finding what you were looking for a few weeks back in your conversation with someone, scrolling back to the present time seems to take just as long.

I have created an "Auto Scroll to Top" feature for MacOS Teams. You will need an Apple Magic Mouse and a small heavy notebook (e.g., Moleskine). Instructions are as follows: 1) move the scroll bar to the top in the Teams App, 2) depress your mouse, 3) place notebook on corner of the mouse to keep it depressed, 3) wait for 1-3 minutes for Teams to scroll to the start of the chat history. I would also recommend that you Pop Out the Chat so you can keep the history loaded. Once you have reached the very top, you will be able to use the scroll bar to move up and down the history more quickly. See attached screenshot and picture

When moving to chat for fast information exchange instead of "legacy email" one would expect at the very least the same responsiveness and search options. However this is not the case.
Cannot scroll back in a fast manner, and search is also slow. (I know there is a Ctrl-f function coming soon to search in current chat, but cannot judge how slow or fast that is yet).
So responsive scrolling and efficient search would be great! -

It really would be nice to also have the options to stay at the same spot in a chat, i.e. remember where I was, instead of having to find it again when I move away to another chat and come back to find the thing has helpfully scrolled to the bottom again.

Does anybody know why this is not tagged as and logged under "Bugs"? This is an ongoing problem within our organization and makes it nearly impossible to find something that happened many days or weeks in the past. Since the search is under-powered, many people rely on scrolling back through the channel as a first attempt at finding what they need.

Horrible waste of time.

What George Morris said. This makes Microsoft Teams feel like someone's first attempt at scrolling in an app.

This doesn't seem to happen with Slack

Once the chats load, STOP UNLOADING THEM. Once we scroll and the chat messages appear, they should not disappear again. LEAVE THEM LOADED while in that chat thread! And for God's sake, give us an export button to export an entire thread!!!

Yeah, this is complete nonsense. Seems like every step they take is backwards lately. Stop screwing around with the 365 partner portal interface, and fix the **** like this that doesn't work.
