Import Groups & Contacts from Skype for Business
With the integration of Skype's features in Microsoft Teams, is there a way to export/import your Contacts and Groups from Skype into Microsoft Teams?
For someone that has been using Teams for over a year now, this would be very useful tool.
As to perform this task of creating Groups, adding the people to them both internal and external manually would take several hours.
Let me know if I can assist.
No resolution yet!! need this ASAP.
March 2020, I have 300+ Skype for Business contacts with no way to import to Teams?
Why do your (MS) users ALWAYS have to be your Beta testers? This seems like you should have people with common sense test the product and provide feedback that you actually implement. Especially, when you are removing a perfectly good none MS program from existence and merging it into an MS bundle of things that nobody wants or needs.
Yeah.... this is a great way NOT for people to adopt Teams....
MS absolutely needs a way to import all my groups / contacts from Skype to teams or I'm not using it....
But I bet there's an updated ribbon coming out for MS Word any day now.
Can you please explain how my teams can just add external accounts !! I really connot.
this is really a nightmare compare to skype.
please can you help us ?
Looks like latest message is from January 2020 and still no solved

This is one of the big issues for us. Having each user create contacts is a non-starter.
Would be great if the Skype favorites I already have just appeared in Teams with no additional action taken like I see my contacts are in the Calls area. Doesn't make sense that I would need to do anything to make this happen when Skype is End of Life and Teams is the replacement.

It would be simply a loss of productivity to have to create contacts one by one again in Teams. There needs to be a way to copy your groups and contacts over from Skype to Teams. Did microsoft forget transition management?
I went to a Teams workshop at MS yesterday & asked about this. I was confused about all of the talk about adoption, but then to only allow adding 1 contact at a time into Teams prior to flipping to "Teams only" contradicts any reason to start playing within Teams. This will be considered a failure.

I'd say it shouldn't be necessary to import contacts and contact groups. In an integrated environment they should be present at once. An import functionality is the lowest required level of integration.
We need this feature, how can it be a 1 to 1 product without it...not to mention forced migrations are coming soon with no resolution...
I would even take the ability to mass add O365 users to a newly created team chat group at this point...but why on earth would I ever want to add 1 user at a time?
Yes, this feature is definitely so so important for most of the company. It should earlier to have this feature. Please help to add in this feature asap. My company need this feature back.
I'm not sure do you speak about Skype for Business online or on-premises. But have a look this:
The time and energy put into creating SfB groups has paid off in a lot of time saved. I am dreading the hard deadline because I know it will involve a huge time investment.
Please work on integrating this feature to save us all from the anger this will cause!
The lack of this feature is the main reason why my organisation has delayed the transition from Skype to Teams.
A (at least one-time migration) is absolutely important for people to accept the switch from Skype to Teams! Please create a solution to this. Actually this shouldn't be a too complicated thing to do...
