Import Groups & Contacts from Skype for Business
With the integration of Skype's features in Microsoft Teams, is there a way to export/import your Contacts and Groups from Skype into Microsoft Teams?
For someone that has been using Teams for over a year now, this would be very useful tool.
As to perform this task of creating Groups, adding the people to them both internal and external manually would take several hours.
Let me know if I can assist.
Is just a MUST !
I really want to switch from Skype to Teams for all my communications, but I have 100s of contacts in Skype.
So until this is implemented and I can smoothly transition to Teams, I have no choice but to remain on Skype.
Just in case it help anyone else I was also annoyed that all contacts are dumped together in Teams, under "Calls/Contacts". HOWEVER if you look at "Calls/Speed dial" and minimise the first group called 'speed dial', you will see the remainder are the original groups from a corporate skype sync we had done (note it is not a live-link, so best to swap entrely to Teams before Skype is made redundant). Granted the folder title is misleading! There is also a button to create new groups. I can't help if the contacts are not syncing in the first place!
I found this, but I have limited access to my work admin tasks. maybe it will help one of you.
NONE of my contact groups are in Chat
Who decided this was a good idea? Grrrr
All of my contact groups from Skype for Business were added to Teams. I found them by going into the Chat section and selecting the drop down carat next to "Chat" which gave me the option of switching to "Contacts". Within this view I could see all of the contact groups I created in Skype for Business with the contacts included. Is it something else that others are looking for here?
Really surprised that it's not available. Very basic feature needed to migrate from Skype to Teams!
i think we have very less votes to grab the attention! this thread need to be spread.
This should also work with outlook. Manually importing one contact at a time is ludicrously inefficient.
Does anyone working for microshit have a brain?
OIT people have no clue how we use our contacts in Skype. How they are grouped.
Teams is junk as far as I can tell and not safe in a hospital environment. It is a major Hipaa violation.
If you are talking to one person in a team the whole group is messaged.
This is just bad software from top to bottom.
SERIOUSLY HOW MANY PEOPLE DOES IT TAKE TELLING YOU ARE MORONS BEFORE YOU USE COMMON SENSE AND IMPLEMENT AN OBVIOUSLY REQUIRED FUNCTION.
CONFOUNDING IGNORANCE. THIS IS THE BEGINNING OF IDIOCRACY BECOMING REAL.
I HAVE 1800 PEOPLE IN MY HOSPITAL TRYING TO FIGURE THIS OUT BUT THERE IS NO SOLUTION OR ANSWER THAT WORKS ANYWHERE. THE HOSPITALS KNUCKLEHEADS IN CHARGE ARE JUST FORCING THIS CHANGE WITHOUT ANY THOUGHT.

How many votes does this really need in order to be implemented?
in Skype, we use Office365Groups for each service and so we provide an art of Service Contact List
in Teams, the Group are listed in the contacts, but empty.
This bad Contact List behaviour is why I block the migration of the whole entreprise (13 countries) and I block the possibility of using more Office365 features so people doesn't push to go more deeply into MS apps...
im not alone.. i really want this feature to import contacts from my skype.. surprise how both tools are from MS but nobody thought through this.

So glad to see I am not alone....and I fully concur... WTH MS, how have you not resolved this yet? I have pinged you many times about this being a required feature for any migration from SFB to TEAMS. I like Teams, but you cannot expect us to move to it if you don't provide the tools needed to make it happen properly (basically, don't cost me productivity!). Please, for the love of all that is Holy/Unholy (Your choice), please make this easier than manual to correct...omg!
How can i Vote multiple times on this. :-)

This feature HAS to be considered. Both systems are owned by Microsoft so how hard can it be. When we first moved across it took a snapshot but has never maintained sync. Even a one off Sync capability would be helpful to then drop Skype would be useful..!!
Come on Microsoft listen to the Users.

Does any of you know of any workaround? Self made script perhaps? Thank you.
I can't believe that this is in still in roadmap from Microsoft .We really need this feature to export/import contacts as we have Upgraded users from SFB to Teams.
This feature of importing contact or Contact group from Skype for Business online is really required because there are several user in our organization who has several contact groups created and are not able to use this when on Teams, its really tedious to have this managed manually.
