How can we make Microsoft Teams better?

Create Planner Task from a Teams conversation

I would like to easily create a planner Task form a Teams conversation.
e.g.: @Microsoft task: Enable Planner Task creation from a Teams conversation

A Suggestion should help to set additional information e.g.: due date
By default the bucket should match the channel

    Seriously, this stream has been out here for how many months and this is not yet a function of conversations.? No brainer. @Planner @person - Subject of action. Extra bonus points if hashtags to organize actions and or to assign to planner buckets. With the widespread use of #hashtags, I am surprised this is not default functionality. Planner is great but really acts independently. Needs to be integrated into collaboration so people can more easily assign ownership of tasks.

    We're using teams to coordinate ICT support activities between remote and local teams. When we started, everyone complained because there was no way to understand the status of a conversation (each was a support activity, and there were many), so we tried Trello and Planner, but they were both lacking in terms of speed of communication. Having the possibility to create and assign a task directly from a conversation (if and when it's required), would be a huge bonus

    It should be possible to click on the conversation ellipse and have an option to assign to task or planner with an embedded link to the conversation.
    It is really frustrating when reading through a conversation and realizing that there is an action item, with no elegant means of actioning it.

    I too would love to see this happen. If Teams is going to be a true competitor, it needs to have these little integrations that people find so useful.

    I've never used Teams, Planner, Flow, Trello, or Slack. I've just educated myself on what each of the MS products are and assumed I could create something in Flow to auto-create and assign tasks in Planner based on a post containing certain key words in a specific channel within Teams. Very disappointed that this doesn't appear to be supported, as it's the first thing that came to mind.

    When we used Slack, we used to use this functionality and it was really helpful! I think it was a bot, but it's a must have.

    Yes this is desperately needed. Optimally automatically linked to the chat conversation.

    My team could use this too...would be valuable to have. Quick planner task creation from the conversation so it is linked back would be great. And going the other direction, if a task status was marked "completed", drop a quick response to the conversation thread that an update on an associated was made. This would be amazing, the time savings even for my small team would probably be measured in several man-hours per week, as we spend a lot of time culling tasks from long conversations, and then later trying to find the conversations to update status of the tasks.

    This is something I have tried creating in flow for some time now. This is much needed in my space.

    Yes, ideas/tasks come up naturally in conversation / chat, which means you then instantly want to 'task' it so it does not get missed. Ideally there would be a 'create planner task' button which flips you over to Planner set up for that channel and creates you a task with a hyperlink back to that fragment of conversation. This provides background context, you then add the task title and further notes to describe the task required.

    I agree. Most of the chats are requests for something. I wish I could link the conversation to a task like I could in our previous suite. Please, do it.

    I agree that this would help me in my manager role to track and monitor the varied conversations/channel that I participate in.

    Agreed - tasks come from conversations in Teams all the time. A simple click to add to Planner is an immediate need!

    This is a very obvious integration idea, and would be of tremendous value.
