With the EOL of Skype for Business looming in, we are going to need to move over to Teams. Skype for Business uses roughly 50MB memory, Teams at the moment idles at around 380MB. The company standard at the moment is 8GB RAM for standard users.

Many enterprise customers have a standard desktop image of 8GB of RAM. When Teams is installed and in use, it consumes 1.8 GB of RAM. That is RAM that is unavailable because Windows 10 and Office 2016 consume about 7GB, therefore Teams causes the whole system to page to disk, resulting in sluggish performance for the whole computer. It takes me 45 seconds to open a web page or Word document. I have to completely quit Teams to make my computer usable.

1850MB of ram usage, 2% constant cpu with as a background app with no user activity, sort it out!

My top three consumers are VS 2017, SQL Server 2016, and Teams.
    Really? Teams?
Outlook, OneNote, and Skype for Business are lower. And Teams basically tries to provide some of those features.
This is a poorly designed app (from a memory management perspective).
