click to dial
Add Click-to-dial for tel protocol. Our staff makes a lot of calls and has to copy and paste phone numbers right now. Would love to see an option for Teams to handle "tel:" protocol or another option for the ability to click-to-dial phone numbers within a web browser. This needs to be supported on Windows and Mac.

on androids, the click to dial is formated as HTML with a space (%20) between the country code and the Area code. Android interprets the %20areacode as the country code for Egypt 20, and makes a long distance phone call for every Teams invite.
I don't know why MS can't seem to get the invitations formatted properly. Skype worked flawlessly.

Please add this. We are rolling out Teams as a VOIP solution, and I can't believe this has not been thought of.

Before we rolled out MS Teams we could use one-klick onto a telephone number within Outlook contacts via our Unified Communication system(CTI application).
Since we use Teams the phone numbers do not appear as a TEL: link anymore. So please add one-klick function also to Teams "TEL: link" handler, to be again able to dial via third party dialing application!

This does work in Edge, I just tested it after setting the system default protocol of TEL to Teams. I was not able to make the below suggestion of Chrome work with the LinkedIP Click To Call.

please prioritize this. enabling single click dialing into teams from websites on PC and mobile is a big miss/ask for our users

Hi
You can use this extension to be able to use click and call with Google Chrome
You do not need extension with Edgehttps://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/linkedip-click-to-call-ch/finldhbibgcbhjhejnhekkjkjinpeikg
Here is the process :
1)Select Teams as Default Tel Protocol in W10
2)if you use Google Chrome install the extension
3) in the extension select option 2 or 3
4) Click on your Number
5) The system will ask you if you want to use Teams to make this call

This is typical of the absolute disconnect from Reality that Microsoft Programmers are in. As soon as teams became available this option should have been included.
I am so tired of the Idiocy of Microsoft. When will they reach the 21st century and learn how to build applications that are not full of crazy time wasting issues!

Click to dial is "the basic feature" for CTI integrations since 20 years. It is completely incomprehensible that this will not work in a communication and collaboration software in 2019.
The usability could be so easy. You mark any number in any document or web page and start the call via ctrl+d (for example). -

We're replacing Skype and PBX with Teams for telephony. We're finding that when we click on web links to call phone numbers Teams throws an error "Sorry, we're unable to complete the call There was an issue finding the person you were trying to reach" example link/URL is tel://+441352838081 (speaking clock, with call charge) Symptoms also described in this tech community site https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Microsoft-Teams/Teams-can-t-make-calls-using-the-URL-Tel-protocol-clicking/m-p/278130
We have an internal web based phone directory and Dynamics CRM where we'd like to continue doing click to dial after switching from Skype to Teams. Also email signatures have tel links for click to dial. Also needs to unescape spaces (%20) and other characters in tel links. Have Teams work with Tel links and then let us decide which app we want to be associated with Tel links -

We would use click-to-dial also on IOS and Android devices.

I'm still looking for a solution to this problem. When external users receive a teams meeting invite, it is formatted in HTML and there is no way to dial the number by clicking on it. we need the number and conference ID in the location field separated by a comma and ending in a #

FYI: As of current builds on mac and PC, this is working. We can click to dial system wide to the teams app. You'll need to set your default handler depending on your OS/platform.
