Bluetooth support in Android
BT does not work on Android.
Concerned User commented
Works! I figured it out!
I remembered that for Bluetooth, Android was requiring "location" permissions for several apps. Once enabled in the Android app my Bluetooth headphones are detected and working!!
- Navigate to "Teams" Android app in your launcher drawer
- Long press
- Drag/press to/the "information" icon (a circle with an "i" in it)
- Navigate to "Permissions"
- Enable "Location"

How are you supposed to use a video conferencing tool without headphone support?!
I am saying"headphone support" rather than "bluetooth" since many phones today ship without a headphone port making this the defacto method of using headphones!!
Matt Doughty commented
Honestly, it mind blowing that bluetooth support isn't there at all.

Add one more to the chorus of people asking how a company as large as Microsoft possibly thought that it was ok to ship an enterprise conference app without bluetooth support. Because no one ever takes meetings from the car or anything...
I'd been an evangelist for this in my department, because I found it infinitely better than Webex on the desktop. This, however, is a major issue, and I can't support us shifting to this product until it's fixed.

Definitely still an issue. It switches to bluetooth, but the audio on the other end is garbled and unusable. Pixel 3, Plantronics PLT.

Hello? Has there been a response on this issue? Not having BT in Teams is a major problem. Using my speaker is not an option.
Pavel Franc commented
Frustrating indeed. My bluetooth headphones work with Skype, music player, phone calls... just not with Teams. Android 8, LG V30.

BT doesn't work all the time on voice or video calls. Only works when it wants.
Definitely need bluetooth support working on the Android App.. Don't even have speaker support...

Not working again in March 2019 - Android v8, Samsung Galaxy Note 8
Jeff Burns commented
Not sure what happened, but Bluetooth is not working again in March 2019...

Mind boggling that this is an open item for over a year in a conferencing app.

I had Bluetooth show up as an option in Teams once. Not sure why. I can't believe this isn't working.

Seems like this worked for a while but my nose headphones quit working a week or 2 ago
Tried today on pixel 2. Does not see BT. Need this very much to be able to use in car or on the go
David Dolgin commented
Teams doesn't even see bluetooth as an option, but on the same phone SfB is happy to use bluetooth. LG v30+ and Jabra 65t earbuds.
Regarding the previous comment on Samsung/Huawei: situation same with Bose and Jabra headsets. Also Skype works in both phones with both headsets. Teams doesn't.
Seems to be working now OK in Samsung (S7) but not in Huawei (Mate 9 Pro).

Was stumped to find this basic core functionality for any communications app not being implemented. And no response from MS?
Does it work in iOS?
