Turn off message preview in notification toast
Currently, when I receive a message, a preview of this message is displayed in the notification toast. As we will be using Teams at work, it would be great for privacy if I had the option to turn off these previews, so the notification toast will just say "New Message from XY"
This feature team has been aware of this request, and it is under review.

This is 'under review' from the past 1 month? Whats the decision on this?
What's the decision on this? A tool which has a major role in screen sharing, should consider privacy of what is being shared topmost. Banner notifications that show previews of messages received privately should be optional. I can't believe it's either no notification or notification that shows more than it should.

to add to this, when a user deletes a post/message the toast retains portions of the deleted message which is not only bad but misleading as it implies the message still exists but clicking the 'activity' doesn't noticeably change the ui to show the message was deleted.

I guess we have to choose between being notified about incoming messages and giving up on having private conversations.
Not easy for the weaker minds like mine
any update on this request Admin?

Pretty awful when you have a team mate that messages
Having the flashing icon in the taskbar remain without the pop ups would be great. Especially in an open plan office there is a lot less privacy with the pop ups, which renders the feature useless.
Yes please add this feature I constantly on edge when people come to my desk over messages that can pop up. I have now taken to leaving my iMac reminders up on the top right hand side of my screen to semi cover the messages as the come in. It's a ridiculous feature to not have!
Just to reiterate what has been said, this really needs to be addressed. I hate we had to switch from Skype to Teams and this only amplifies my judgement.
Add this urgently...terrible UX
please add this, cannot use Teams properly :(
Please get this added asap. This is a serious issue while doing presentations.
I just received the same request from a user today. Teams should be able to:
1. Have an option to show a Toaster popup notifying receipt of a message _without_ showing the message itself.
2. Have an option to not show the last message of a Private Chat underneath the Chat Contact Name.
The fact that you should have a Product Owner who actually understands the requirements of what is needed in this kind of software is also disappointing, to say the least.
And, please stop hiding behind this formality of "feature under review". It's virtually a no-brainer and making out like there is some huge decision to be made about providing this capability, especially with all the worthwhile "use cases" presented here, is patently ridiculous.

Hasn't this issue be solved yet?? It is amazing how something as simple to solve yet as potentially risky in terms of shared information is not being taking seriously by you, Microsoft Teams guys, as of today
Please add this feature. This is really bad when sharing a screen or presenting.
Still nothing? wow...

Wonder how many more months they will need to edit a couple lines of code.
Prioritize - It is a big condition for company adoption rate.
This is the worst part of Teams. You should be embarrassed.
The lack of this feature would be enough to make me switch platforms if it was my decision.
It is causing data breach in our company. How difficult is this to implement?
Or just allow us to disable Banners while blinking notification is still enabled. Thanks.
