Turn off message preview in notification toast
Currently, when I receive a message, a preview of this message is displayed in the notification toast. As we will be using Teams at work, it would be great for privacy if I had the option to turn off these previews, so the notification toast will just say "New Message from XY"

To provide you with even more privacy, Teams now lets you turn off message previews in your desktop notifications. Message previews are on by default. To turn them off, go to your profile picture, select Settings > Notifications > Show message preview. From here, switch the toggle to off.

If only we could shut these damned toasts off then teams would only need to stop needing 1000 clicks to go from a teams meeting in outlook to being in the meeting (click on join, wait for it to load the web page, click on the open teams app in the web page (even when the app is already running) then click join when the app is open... did no one do any usability on this???
I now have toasts ALL the way up the right hand side of my screen, bongs in my ear every 2 seconds and am right royally ****** off -

I want the ability to place the location and screen that notifications show up on. I also want to be able to control the notifications behavior. For instance, I want calendar notifications to come up and stay up, and have sound until I choose to make it stop.

When will the option to turn off message previews in the notification toast be launched?
I would like to set the notification toast to simply state "New Message from _________". This setting is already available in Teams on Windows 10. Thank you.

Is there any update on when this feature might be coming? It is a huge privacy concern and it doesn't seem to be a priority. Which is worrying.
Rolling out lots of features to compete with other platforms but heard nothing on this when the original post was made years ago. 🙄 -

Please bring in the function to turn off toast notifications but keep the flashing notification on the task bar. It's helpful to know that you have a chat message to answer in your own time, but I find that because scroll bars etc are on the same side as the toast notifications when they come through I end up accidently clicking the chat open when I'm trying to focus on work.

I was in a large meeting (with an audio presentation), getting a dinging notification for 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘭𝘦 𝘮𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘢𝘨𝘦!
I wasn't in another app or even another part of Teams, I was in the chat!I'll try Do not disturb next time, but this is an absurd default.

While this is a good feature and will be nice to mask the message as it isn't important. Microsoft does have the ability to suppress the notifications by either setting your status to Do not disturb within teams or enabling your Focus Assist through windows.

We need to be able to disable the obtrusive toasts altogether without sacrificing being alerted to new messages. The toasts appear in a horrible position that constantly interrupts my work. And then there's the whole privacy issue.

This is massively frustrating for Deaf people (I am Deaf myself) and every time a notification pops up, I have to close the box in order to communicate. This is an accessibility issue and should have been tested.

Please allow to move notification popup on another place of the display or even to another display!
Thanks! -

While you're at it, please throw in the ability to mark as read upon notification toast. Save us some clicks. :)

Can Teams alerts and popups be disabled if I am already presenting using Teams?

Any update as to when it would go live? This seems like a very simple feature that is already available in Outlook so it shouldn't be difficult to push to teams.
