functionality to send email to all members in team
Can we add functionality to send email to whole team at once. I am not sure if it is already there.
Updating status based on comment from community member. Will update again when we receive further giving info on the scenario.

Definite requirement, fundamental to acceptance of Teams.

From whom are you awaiting further info before you explain? You @mentioned someone and I can't find a comment from that person?
You say that it is possible to send emails to the entire team for both of these scenarios: "One for notifications (a regular email) and one for meetings". Can you please explain how these are possible?
When I establish a primary SMTP address on the group ... why doesn't it e-mail the group members? This should be the default functionality.

I thought it would be built in that when I post something on my team site, the team members would get some notification that a new news post was posted. Apparently Teams doesn't do that??? Why post on a team site if every member has to go searching for a new post to the team site. Team members should get some type of notification that a new post occurred on the team site.

I also need to send updates to the whole team. Since the team would not have Microsoft Teams open, they are not noticing the updates. An Email trigger seems the best choice
Hi @jaume.. Please help me understand. Per the notes below there were two scenarios. One for notifications (a regular email) and one for meetings Both are possible. If you provide me more details I'll refine our answer. Thank you!

The lack of this feature is limiting how much I can use Teams. I need to send an EMAIL notification of forthcoming meetings to the whole group. If I just use teams notifications, people miss them.

This is an absolute necessity!

It is really needed to all TEAMS owners. I have to add all members manually when I notice something to members........Please update!
It is absolutely rubbish that you can't email a team. No one has teams open all the time yet so when you post to teams, no one sees it! Really needs this function or we can't use yet
I also need to EMAIL the members and owners of a team so it goes to their normal INBOX. They don't look at the group's inbox. I post a weekly Tip on a team and want them to know about it without going to Teams.
We used to be able to do this easily when the MS Team group name was listed in our corporate global address list (GAL), but now that it is not listed, I can't find a way to duplicate the desired behavior -- that each member get an email.

beyond required, if you are deleting a team you simply need to EMAIL and not POST everyone affected

This is easy to do, go to Office 365 Admin center, find Groups, find the Office 365 Group that was created with the Team, click on it, it will show the email address of the Group, which contains all members of the Teams Site that you created. Emails and invites sent to the Group address go directly to the users. Whenever you create a Team, an Office 365 Group is also created.
Any further progress here ?
I would like to post an Outlook Calendar invite both in a Teams Channel but also to the Channel's member's Outlook Calendars.
Is this possible ?
I need to email all members of a microsoft team at once. They are members of the team but do not all check the Teams site. I need to be able to mass email team members and schedule Outlook appointments for a team too.
Is this available?
You cannot send emails from teams to the members. However, you can send an email to Teams (Channel conversation). It will be updated as a comment on the channel conversations.
Please, old school isn’t always bad!!!!

@rok. this does not work. The email sends so it looks like it works from the sender's persepctive, but it isn't actually received by anyone.
