Great news! We just started working on this for the AUDIO portion. We are still trying to determine feasibility for the video portion of your request.

Great to hear! Please post here when this feature becomes available on mobile, even if it's only a beta version of the app... I'd be willing to be a beta tester!

Completely agree. Typing can be much slower than speaking. Can't wait for this feature as it will save me using WhatsApp with my internal teams to communicate information so all the communication will be in one place.

Yeah, need this, great to be able to send someone a voice message if they are not on skype at the time, but then receive it when they log back in later on.

This is one of the missing features in MS Teams that is keeping my colleagues from switching from WhatsApp to Teams.

Need this! Would be awesome for speeding up communication within an organisation.

This is also a feature in Workplace. Please add the ability to send short video messages.

Well, great that the requests have been merged - now how about actually doing it?
The time taken to introduce basic functionality will kill any chance of uptake. Organisations give it one chance to work and if it can't do what all the other contenders do, they move on and implement a more capble solution.

Yes, please. It's better than audio to text features and allows for way more personality to come across and helps team building in my opinion.

Skype has that too. I especially love sending quick audio messages via Skype. Audio messages are lightweight (much less bandwidth than video) and can be so much better than typing
